they are not valuing it at 1c a point; they are calculating it on what you can get with 1mil points, and what that would cost to buy; for example a couple of first class emirates tickets and business class tickets that add up to $46k
Except if u fly Emirates you will have to fork out 10k plus in real cash to redeem 46k of points. What they seem to have done is calculated a local economy reawrd fare compared to most expensive fully flexible equivalent ticket. Which is obviously pretty ridiculous.
My entry; I would waste hours on the Qantas website trying to find business or first class classic award availability.
