This is the one game I want to be ported to PC

    • -1

      Same.
There have been signs it'll be announced soon enough for PC, I've heard there are Steam DB entries that seem to reference the game. So only a matter of time.

The more PlayStation games on PC the better. I hope they port over the Gravity Rush games one day.

      • -1

        Oooooohhhh yeaaaaahhh!!!
I hope so. I have played it a bit on ps5 but I cannot play shooters on console to save my life.

I agree, I hope it continues, it really is a no brainer for Sony to do so imo.

      • -1

That's great news. There are too few reasons for me to buy a PSV. There are plenty of great games that need to make the jump to PC, but there are a very small handful of PS exclusive games I'd personally love to play, Returnal tops that list.

    • +1

I think there is a very high likelihood we see this one on PC, should be more likely than Uncharted 4.

    • AFAIK it was always intended to be ported to PC. Probably got delayed when Housemarq got bought by Sony.

One of the best games I have played. Free now on PS Extra ($134.95/yr) and PS Deluxe ($154.95/yr) subscriptions.Given this and many AAA titles are included in the subs, they are far better value than individual games imo.

    • +15

And by free you mean not free at all…

    • +3

Or $40/y for Deluxe if you fly to Turci for the weekend…

      • Any instructions on how to get those cheap flights?

Seems to say expired but the flights are still running. I use this for all my digital game purchases now to get pretty much half price every time.

Was from this deal but apparently the virtual credit card is now no longer working, RIP.

          • @[Deactivated]: Damn this is such a shame! I was holding off on getting the Deluxe PS+ sub until I had worked through my backlog, but now I guess that won't be happening any more.

  • +3

Really great game, one of the best titles I've played on PS5. Also held its price really well even after being added to PS Extra/Deluxe, bought it for $50 in late 2021.

    • I played this a fair bit, and was really fun for awhile, but it sucks that if you use all the shortcuts you won't be as powered up as you could be. Sure you get the proficiency upgrade (random level but always decent), but you won't have all the artifacts etc.

      • That's the point, it's a trade off between speed and power.

  • This game is toooooooooooooo hard.

    • -3

In case people are wondering…I'm just joking coz someone was whinging about Metroid Dread being too hard.

  • +4

bought this game but didn't like it so returnaled it

    • I see what u did there

    • So you’re buying it again?

    • I returnaled this twice! and now it's on PS Extra..No returnalling now.

  • GOTY 2021

  • +1

Isn't this in Sony's version of Gamepass now?

  • -4

    Why is it called Returnal?

Because that's what happens to them a week after you buy it.

    • +2

Why do they call it ovaltine…

The mug is round, the jar is round..

      They should call it Roundtine

  • The shooting and movement is great but the roguelike aspects of the game are pretty shit. The tower DLC mode is way better than the main game.

  • +1

For anyone thinking of picking this up just be aware that it's not a roguelike in the same vein as Hades. Hades is great as each run lasts between 15mins - 1hour at the longest and you can feel yourself getting stronger very quickly with lots of progress being carried over from one run to the next. By comparison Returnal can feel like a real slog, runs are many hours long and while you do eventually get new abilities etc progress is painfully slow. I platinumed Hades, gave up on Returnal after ~20 hours.

    • +2

I played the hell out of both of them. Returnal definitely has a learning curve but once you get over the hump (for me that was beating the first boss) it's amazing. Don't recall having a run last much more than an hour, have to say except for the one or two where I completed the first act and continued straight into the second, which almost never happens. Weapon attribute unlocks are slower than Hades but holy hell are they fun.

    • Returnal got me into Hades. Both games are incredible. Returnal didn't feel like a 'slog' at all, the gameplay was so much fun. git gud

      • Not everyone wants to sit there and repeat the same shit 50 times, gitting gud has nothing to do with it.

        • +1

If you don't die you don't have to repeat it 50 times…
This didn't feel like a slog to me at all

          • @cook99: Ok people, just don't die. That is the secret…

            • -1

@peterross: This worked for me. Died 3 times in total and finished act 3, along with another 2 full runs for good measure.

            • @peterross: I just checked back and I died 25 times total to complete, and I'd say 15 of those were before I understood the mechanics and what the hell I was doing, but the gameplay was so fun I didn't mind that as part of the learning process, loved every minute.
It's initially hard, yes, but never unfair.

        • +1

well I didn't have to repeat anything 50 times. you'd only need to repeat it that much if you can't git gud :/

    • I got the platinum for Returnal before they introduced the suspend cycle feature.

I only played 2 hours of Hades and the game is still inside the case, found it pretty lackluster after finishing everything on Returnal.

Taste is different for all people.

      • Yup, I was very surprised to find I liked Hades given I am loathe to repeat content in games. I really want to like Returnal given the setting is one of the most immersive & interesting I have ever experienced in a video game, but I just find the thought of having to restart a longass run means I usually end up watching something on Netflix instead.

      • +1

bruh, give Hades another go. I have been playing Returnal since launch and it is an amazing game, but so is Hades. I didn't play it til after Returnal either but once I finally got into it I'd have to say it's THE most addictive game i've played.

      • I wanted to get the platinum but also wanted to start fresh to re-experience without any leveled up kit, instead I moved on due to indecision.

Good job getting platinum before suspend!

  • +1

Absolutely amazing game, best I've played in years

  • +2

Best game I've played in forever.

    Absolute perfection.

  • +2

This game is by far the best action game I've ever played in the whole atmosphere, control and stage design as well.

Never feel repetitive but words to be warned…It is a very hard game and testing all your sense and pump your heart beat so much especially when you fighting those damn boss BEFORE you ever beat it.

I will definitely rate this game 9/10.

  • Do you guys think the price will go down further?

I have yet to get a PS5, but thinking maybe I should start hoard the games when prices are low.
    What does everyone think?

  • Playing it atm from ps extra, and it's brilliant, but not for the casual player, it is incredibly punishing progression-wise but well worth it

  • +1

I did not like it. Gave it up, too slow progress and too hard for me

  • not even going to try this game. sounds like not a good fun time
