HODL for AMD announcement no rush, those stock can stay there and rot.

If only we all stand together and refused to buy, that will send Nvidia a message.

This, I was really strongly considering an Nvidia GPU, but after this joke of an $900 USD 4070 mascerading as a '4080' when it's completely different than the 16gb 4080. GTX 1070 launched for $380 USD.

My old EVGA 1080 is chugging just fine, happy to hodl for a good while

      • +2

Our EVGA 1080's will be collectors items soon due to them pulling away from graphics cards…. maybe

      • Agreed I sold mine for $350 been playing more ps5 on my 77C1, not many decent games making use of the computing power these days anyway.. maybe Stalker 2 or Atomic Heart

        • stalker 2 delayed to unknown date

      • chugging would be the word

    • But but Nvidia supports professional software…..

Man weren’t these like 2k not so long ago… like they say in the stockmarket, you can never pick the top or bottom of a market… at risk of a neg, just buy it and be happy !

Running out of my daily negs mate slow down on the comments… your a GPU JV that's for sure

$599 by the end of the year.

Lol not a chance unless you buy second hand

  • +7

lmao these should be $600 at best

AMD will be announcing their new cards soon. The next-generation of cards from both companies will release soon.

At worst case the old cards prices stay where they are. But realistically they're going to drop pretty quickly over the next couple of months. Maybe not by as much as we hope. But definitely worth waiting since anyone in the market has already managed to wait quiet a while. A month or two more won't hurt

  • Got one a few hours ago. I'm sure the extra vram will help with futureproofing somewhat. Plus the higher speeds mean it's on par with a 3080ti. Also, the price just went up to 1029.

Edit: looks like the entire page is gone lmao

      "futureproofing"

      Literally outdated as of today.

      • "somewhat"

Besides, this card never was the fastest as the 3090/ti has been around for longer. I'm happy just as long i can play 4k on ultra.

  • +4

Mmm 40% cheaper for 50% slower, with older tech.

Seems like a value buy to me!

  • When will this translate into cheaper laptop 3070, 3080 prices? Looking to upgrade my ageing laptop soon.

    • Laptop card pricing is completely separate. They probably won't even have 4000 series in laptops for 6 months

  • -3

3080 will be better than 4080 12g model which is supposed to be named as 4070

  • "Ultimate steal" alright. Daylight robbery by NVIDIA.

lol triple the price of my 6600xt and uses 320 watts. All for extra frames you can't see

    • Correct the human eye can only see 9fps on 720p amd will be king forever.

Bbl going to play minesweeper. Zomg using 37w of powrr

      • What a stupid comment no offence. 6600xt is a more efficient 1080ti not a vega 11. 150fps 1440p ultra in pubg (350fps csgo). The jump from 1440p to 4k is also less noticeable than jumping from 1080p to 1440p. Talk about diminishing returns!

My entire case uses 250w. An Ampere/Ada gpu is another 200-300 watts. It's beyond bad engineering. The air cooling is far less silent regardless of hsf improvements. Ampere/Ada from an engineering perspective could be called overclocked Turing models

        • 350 fps in csgo? Lmao didnt you just say "extra frames you cant see" ………… strong argument. Thx for the wall of text and your reasons for buying the cheapest gpu?

          • @PensionerXXL: Yeah it's pretty good argument lol. A lot better than the supposed 9fps on 720p.

And it only cost $350 not $1500. 3080 12gb is burning extra watts for frames you barely notice. If it was 30 to 60fps I'd understand, but not 150fps to 300fps, then factor in price is at least 300% more
