I know it’s a great game.. but this game has been out for 5 years. It shouldn’t be this expensive still!

      Mario has left the chat.

Even longer considering it was originally a Wii U game. $35 for the DLC on top of things without NSO it's incredible how much they've milked this one. It's without a doubt an amazing game but I don't think I've seen a game hold it's price quite like it

      • I agree, although as for holding its price Donkey kong tropical freeze is another that comes to mind from around the same time (8 years ago or so)…

but typically over their last 2 generations at least, most of their first party games hold value until the next instalment of that specific game comes out.

Look at all their first party titles for this gen and last, and see their pricing over their history, solely first party nintendo titles have refused to budge(only slightly when on sale)…

yet to the contrary of what should logically happen the games keep selling…nintendo is aware, gamers are aware, people need to be aware, the cycle will continue…

sorry for my rant and if I went off course! :s must've been a banana peel!

    • Yeah it's still a little pricey for how old it is, the resell value is still very good tho.

  • this game never gets old to this day I still play this, and i have finished it 20 times lol. muliplayer is fun too :D

  • Can 4 players mode go online?

  • Is it worth getting if we already have on WiiU?

    Not bothered about online play.

    • If you have a switch, yes. Especially if you have the online membership expansion for the extra DLC that's not entirely released yet.

I have both, being able to play on the shitter is a plus (can do obviously on wii u but not as well).

Good to jump in/out of. If you can wait for digital to drop in price I would just buy digitally but that is rarely on sale.

      • I bought Online membership not realising I had to get membership + expansion… Bit disappointed I have to pay again! Hardly seems worth it.

Would depend how you play it, if you play a lot of offline multiplayer or have young kids, it might be worth it.

Switch has better battle modes and a few tweaks to gameplay weapons/handling. Also has a kids easy racing mode. Otherwise it’s much the same as original Wii U game/dlc.

Got to hand it to Nintendo , they’ve really turned a failure into an advantage by re-using all the games no one bought on wii u. 😂

      • My 8 y/o son plays it but loses interest as I beat him everytime 🏆

Might just save the 60 bucks

If you are on the fence, consider borrowing the game from your local library to give it a test run. Nintendo pricing is quite harsh.

      • Didn't even know you could do that… Thanks

  • I love this game but still 59…was this cheaper for black Friday last year? I'm happy to wait.

  • Nintendo games hold there value extremely well
Just checked my Target receipt which I kept inside the case. Purchased MK8 for $62.00 30/04/2017 so still basically the same price 5 years on. Over the last year bought several games on discount from BigW like Astral chain, dragon quest, Xenoblade for $30 difficult to find those under $70 now.

On the other hand most playstation games become worthless after a few years God of war (2018) $9 in recent deal paid $60-70 when it came out back then lol.
