    Relatively easy. Just take out the beans from the hopper, give the grinder a good brush out, then run a couple of naked pulls with some machine cleaner mixed in with the water.

    For all intents and purposes, a coffee machine should not require too much "cleaning" since most of the machine only has water or dry beans going through it, with only the portafilter and dispenser having coffee going through it. Limes ale can be a problem though, so running a scaler or a 50-50 water/vinegar mix through it about once every couple of weeks will help prevent too much buildup

  Our Breville just expired - mmm but might hold out for a pure espresso machine like a rancilio or gaggia??

    Expired? Not just a thermal fuse? easiest if fixes.
    My Perfecta thermoblock died after 5000 coffees, but was a pretty easy replacement, and cost $35 from Amazon. Gave the pump a service while I was there (use the little ball from inside any hand trigger spray bottle as a replacement, ie spray and wipe). Worked a treat.

  Have one of these. They're great if you like your coffe black. Only other option is cappuccino.
