  • A while ago someone posted RACQ offer with the promo code RACQ. You don't have to be a member to use that code. Looks like its a regular offer for anyone who is member of Roadside service (similar deal with RAA SA). Free postage too.

    • Pretty sure that's expired now, at least there are membership checks in place since it was OzBargained. I contacted RACV recently to see if they could provide something similar, they seemed to like the idea and said "watch this space…". The free shipping made the last deal really attractive. You need to buy over $200 in cards just to cover the shipping cost.

      • Way to go. I just went instore, and they had a big sign saying "Giftcards now available!"
Went to the desk, turns out they only sell giftcards for RACV retail store.
Pfft who would want that, even if it was discounted (its not)

  • If you have an entertainment book you can get 5% off wish gift cards as well as coles and kmart gift cards. All with free postage. Well worth it if you use it for eating out as well.

  • You can always just visit a RAA/RACQ office and pickup them up.
    No waiting time.
    5% off all the time.

    • thanks guys

    • one would have to be a member I guess….I'm not as I'm in NSW

  • An update, it was temporarily available for NRMA, RACT, AA Northern Territory members.

Hopefully it will become available again.

  • Some of the Energy companies (Lumo in Vic), Unions, Entertainment books, Ambassador Card, etc do this all the time.

and keep an eye on Cardlimbo as they sometimes have sales on giftcards

  • My union does them so check Wat union ur in

  • Kare Kard has Coles/Wish for 7.5% off (+ postage) for the next couple of days (unless it ends sooner): http://us2.campaign-archive1.com/?u=6fedcfb970b7bd812f59469c…

I would have posted this as a deal combined with the 50% off joining fee as posted on their front page (http://karekard.com.au/) but when I tried to enter the code it says it's invalid… so the only people who could take advantage (unless you want to pay full price membership / buy a lot of gift cards) are those already signed up who would've been emailed about it anyway…

    • Finally have the gift cards from this offer, over 6.5 weeks after ordering… this is despite the Ts & Cs stating a 21 day maximum wait. Never had to wait anywhere near this long ordering from Entertainment Book, so despite the value offered here, the time taken + lack of communication puts me off looking at Kare Kard in the future.

      • I won't be using Kare Kard again. This is a detailed account of my experience with them over the last 6 weeks.

Day 1 – Ordered and paid for a $500 gift card for one of the major grocery chains. Paid the extra for signature on delivery as the terms of use on the website state “Kare Kard can not take responsibility for any Gift Card, Vouchers or Tickets that are misplaced, lost or stolen when being sent through Australia Post”. Confirmation of purchase was immediately received via email.

Day 16 – I hadn’t received the item or any further information so I submitted an enquiry form on their website. The only phone number for them goes to a message that says they don’t monitor it and you should use the form on the website.

Day 19 AM – I hadn’t received a reply to my enquiry form lodgment so I emailed them directly.

Day 19 PM – Reply received to say they didn’t get the enquiry form (even though I got to the confirmation screen that said they would get back to me within 48 hours). The email response said the item was due to be dispatched tomorrow and that I would be sent the postage tracking number also tomorrow.

Day 27 – Still hadn’t received item or any communication from Kare Kard so I emailed them again.

Day 31 - I hadn’t received any personal response but they sent out an automatic email to say my order had been completed. I replied to ask for the tracking number.

Day 33 – Received a ‘sorry we missed you’ card in my letterbox from the courier even though I was home at the time. I had to collect the item from the post office.

I never received the tracking number from Kare Kard and the last communication I had from them was two weeks ago.

        • +1

I'm sad to say a year on, this situation has not changed.

I received my gift cards only recently, but this was well past the 21 business day maximum wait period on their terms and conditions AND after sending several emails to request when the cards would come — including pointing out to them that I may need to resort to the use of a credit card chargeback with the bank to recover my funds. Their communication and what was essentially broken promises meant that they really did not give me a high comfort/trust level with them.

My recommendations: Approach with extreme caution. Clarify if their estimated delivery times are true, and reflect reality / history. Clarify what should happen if they were to break their estimates.

          Or just avoid.

        • @Member 0230: I wish i had read this before i ordered. took over a month to arrive with one card missing.

  • I would like to warn ozbargainers on buying from Kare Card. It's been almost 2 months and I am yet to receive 1700 worth of gift cards. Their customer service is hopeless. It takes a long time for them to reply or even no reply at all. The discounts are not worth it at the end considering the time and stress.
