    Is a portable hard drive such as this one suitable for connecting to a PVR or HD recorder to provide extra storage space? If not, could someone more knowledgeable than me advise please on what I should purchase/use?

      I use a number of different Ext HDDs on my PVRs, and they all work.

      I use a WD 1TB in both my Topfield 2400's, and have a WD 1TB MyPassport, that I move between both PVRSs and Lappy.

      My guess is that this one would work..

    You can add thunderbolt adapters to these HDD's
