  • Are the pro better than the standard?

    • They have a higher capacity I believe

    • From memory, just different. I think these were better for high drain devices, regular for low.

    • I just looked into this. The Pro has a higher capacity, but the regular will last a lot longer (something like 500 recharges vs 2000).

As I just bought these for a couple of game controllers, I went with regular.

edit in fact, looking at the model that's posted in this deal, they're actually listed as lower capacity on the packaging (950mAh) compared to the regulars here (2000mAh) https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B077PTMGWQ/ref=ppx_yo_d…

You're right about the number of recharges, but I think you're actually comparing Standard AA vs Pro AAA capacities.

        AA mAh
        Std 2000
        Pro 2550

        AAA mAh
        Std 800
        Pro 950

One major disadvantage of the Pro vs Std, is the Pro lose 15% capacity after 1 year, while the Standards lose 30% but over 10 years.

This link has more info on the differences between them: https://eneloop101.com/batteries/eneloop-pro/

        • Oh yeah, you're right. I messed that up. The link was to the AAAs.

  • What is a good decently priced charger for the pro Eneloops?

    • I have an older version of the LiitoKala Lii-500 - can be ordered off ebay for < $30

That model has a bad reputation of poorly charging AA batteries and cut’s off before fully charging them so you don’t get full capacity and run time using that charger.

Nitecore i4 or D4 are really good options under $40

    • I have been using this for the past 2 years, it charges envelops just right.

  • Can we use any power cord/plug for the charger that is 240v (aus homes standard), right?

Does anyone know where to buy a good quality adapter (2 pin male to female iec?) that is affordable? I've browsed a few stores online but it's hard to judge the quality/durability. I just don't want it to short circuit or anything (mainly explode or damage the charger it's connected to).

  • Regular (non-pro) is currently $17.95 for 4-pack:

Ikea Ladda (same factory, same battery, different label) is cheaper, if you have an IKEA nearby.

Is this even a good price? I got the 8 pack of Pros for $30 subscribe and save last time.

    • It's the lowest price in around 5 months from what I can see from camel

Looks ok but 3x camels has been on the fritz lately. Often find the links I paste show incorrect history or don't show any history at all with just a straight line and a price that doesn't match the current Amazon price.

  • Hi guys, Just noticed that Catch have 4 pack AA $19.49 if anyone didn't want to buy 8 https://www.catch.com.au/product/panasonic-aa-eneloop-pro-re… or AAA $16.99 https://www.catch.com.au/product/panasonic-eneloop-pro-recha… - so slightly cheaper but arguably its easier to get free P+P on Amazon. Also Catch are doing $15 off if you spend $75 (see homepage). The links also show they have a charger+4AA batteries (NOT PRO) for $39 for tonight only if anyone wanted a charger. The regular (not pro) are also cheaper on Catch than Amazon at the moment.
