        • It should be fine, if you're not on the Amaysim MVNO plan then you're not currently a customer, you're a new customer. It won't work if your new and transfer number are both Amaysim though.

      You can cancel and it will not bill the next month, but you'll be able to use the last month you already paid for.

    Thanks Op, bought one for my Dad. I manage 5 mobile accounts for family members & all were with Belong but have been gradually porting them out now the lowest plan is $15, silly move Telstra.

      Telstra and Telstra wholesale are charging too much, still roughly around the $1/GB range at best, which is just way too much.

      • I just noticed that Belong offers unlimited data with capped 1Mbps (OK for 480p video) now. Maybe the 1st Telco from Telstra.

        • If the speeds were 5Mbps or more then it would be ok, but 1Mbps is really only usable for last effort or last resort. But it's better than 0Mbps I guess. Vodafone does it best, 2/10/25Mbps after you use your quota.

          Telstra owns Belong, but the pricing is not that much better than Telstra direct, and you are limited to 100Mbps (Which is not that big a deal anyway) but is a weird thing.

          I really like the idea of Felix mobile, too bad the network isn't that great, but in trial in a city Felix was really good, that 20/20Mbps unlimited is a really cool idea.

          • @checkingthisout: If I remember correctly, 20+ yrs ago, home internet speed was 1-2Mbps.

            Without video streaming download, it is OK to use for me.

      • I did but that is about continuing to use the rollover data without paying for a plan. I would not be using the Sim at all during this time so the answer might be different

        • I spoke to chat about it, although they weren't very clear, I do not think you can pause & start again with the discount still in place.

          Best to ask the chat yourself.

    After spending a few hours trying to chat to Amaysim where they don't reply for ages and then the chat is closed, and not kept for the next time you chat necessitating explaining everything again, i rang them and was told the first month is $9 and all the subsequent months are $30, and only the 55 GB is on special, not the price.
    I referred to the special conditions re FINDER55, and even emailed it to her, she apologized, says it was confusing, but all subsequent months after the first are $30.
    I'm negging to alert everyone who wanted to stay on for 6 months, like me. Sorry

          You've spoken to them about the wrong plan. The Amaysim direct plan is only 1 month, the Finder one is 6 months.

      Thanks checkingthisout. I'll call amaysim tomorrow and see what's going on. The lady i spoke to on the phone asked her supervisor, so i don't know who is making the mistake.

      I bought the SIM for a friend for data and have spent way too long in this. I told her to cancel the SIM as it's on auto renewal but can also be turned off in the app.

  • Currently with amaysim. If port out then port back in classed as new customer? As i want to keep number. Also anyone know how long process takes as know offer ends soon so will order a boost sim to port to

      Transfer to felix or GOMO using free Esim month. Then transfer back in.

      If you don’t have Esim then try something else.

      • I tried to port from Optus to GOMO eSim, but GOMO said “your current provider doesn’t not allow porting to an eSim”. It means Optus refused it

      I found woolies had a lebara $30 plan for $6. So I'm using that now. When it expires, I will activate my Amaysim first week of Nov.

      Don't buy optus or voda - you have to pay extra to activate them.

            @lordra: Yes it was amaysim , poor communication from their end.

            I entered first letter of my surname hence the drama.

            Ended up cancelling service after sending them my DL and them saying they see errors during verification

  • If I click port over number, will they do that immediately/quickly but I’ll be waiting up to 10 days to receive the physical sim? Thus not able to use my number (Vodafone) until sim arrives?

      Buy a $2 Amaysim from Coles or Woolies. You can use that to transfer your number without waiting for delivery of sim card. I just ported from Boost mobile to Amaysim and it took 5 minutes to port.

      You can keep using your Vodafone service until you activate the physical Sim card.

  • Reached out to chat support and they enabled VoLTE for me. Wi-Fi calling is also working now. Does anyone know if Amaysim Wifi calling work overseas like Boost?

      No, optus wifi call is georestricted. You could hotspot a router that has a vpn back to australia and maybe that would work

    I’m looking for something cheap for kids phones amaysim seems the better of what’s offered here yes?
    Phones are locked to optus would probably cancel after the 6 months.
    But I take this is 6 months for $9 per month

  • A little annoying that it's 28 days and not 30 days per monthly charge. Also they charge me and initiated the plan period upon applying, not when I received and activated the SIM! I had something like 16days remaining on the first month. Both niggles but still not worth searching for customer service and then the muck about.

    Also, they've made multiple offers of other more rubbish deals constantly since signing up.
    Next month will see if the $9 continues.

      You can select a future activation date.
      I brought the previous deal from 6 months ago ($10/months for 6 months) and I can still active and make it working after the date they said on their website.
      Just need to buy the sim card before 15.11.2022 and you can active anytime you want.

        • Must activate by 11.59pm (AEDT) on 15 November 2022 means for only who buying the sim card seperate from store and then active and pay with the code FINDER55. Otherwise, if you buying sim card from this link, the plan with FINDER55 already in your plan account and in your sim card so you can activate anytime you want.

      • How does it work and you don’t need to pay for 6 months?

        • I paid $30 this month, they issued me with $21 credit because i was only meant to pay $9.
          This means in december and January i will pay nothing, in february i will have to pay $6 and in march ill have to pay $9.

          I also deactivated my auto payment via paypal so they definitely cant take any money out next month if they make a mistake.

    I was charged $30.00 for the 2nd month too. Just been on live chat sorting it out, they have apparently credited my account with $21.00.

    Just came here to see if anyone else was charged $30 too. Just about to contact them.

    Edit - So after an unecessary long back and forth and having to convince them by copy-pasting their own terms of the FINDER55 promo, I was credited $21 and they claimed it was sorted and I should be charged $9 per renewal for the remaining 4. (So initial activation counts as a renewal.)

    For anyone having similar issues with them, just be persistent. You may also need to copy-paste these promotion terms.

    I dont want to hang around using up any credit as the data service sucks for one area I go to daily and need data.

    idiots.. will prob instesd port out to Aldi and hit them with a chargeback if they only iffer a credit.

    edit: online chat now . referenced the 1st invoice that clearly states the Finder exclusive terms… Use that to eliminate any confusion from Amaysim end.

    edit2: Online chat. if you reject a CREDIT they will offer to refund the $30 and charge the $9.

    edit3: they charged the $9. Strangely the $30 just disappeared from my bank transaction listing (prob as was still pending.

    Hi guys I have set it up. They are thieves. They charged me $9 on first month and charged me $30 on following month. Just because it’s auto recharge, it doesn’t mean they can cash out as much as they like from my accounts. I am going to report them to ACCC.

  • They cannot overcharge and exchange for credit, it is illegal. They have to refund that is give money back. We can lodge a class action against Amaysim. They need to abide by laws. They need to lose a fortune for their wrongdoings.

  • My plan is up for auto renewal in 14 days… Will see if its resolved by then.

  • Activated mine on Friday and got a text saying they've restarted plan date - so I'll set a reminder for early December to contact them about renewal, hopefully they'll have sorted something automated out by then.
