Does include 5G capped @ 150Mbps for those playing at home

    Works out at 11.25/mth, decent

    • +2

Another option is this deal but with Shopback instead, $11.61 per month, 300GB Data with uncapped 5G Speed.

        Expired or still going?

        • +2

TCB is expired, but SB still has 30% CB on the same plan but the upsize expires today

      • Has Vodafone's network improved?

        • +6

Least 000 is included with vodafail

        • +1

I used the unlimited plan for a couple months of basic internet and it was better than expected.

I guess it depends on your area.

        • +2

I get good data reception in regional VIC since they did that Optus deal. I switched from Boost a few months ago and I’m very happy with my decision.

  • Some tracking issues in previous amaysim deal, as per comments - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/929872

I assume they will get resolved eventually, but just keep eye out for this one too, whether it tracks after purchase and if then need to raise ticket.

Ordered an hour ago and it's tracked for me.

    • +1

Tracked almost instantly for me via TCB app

    • +1

Yea mine didn't track from last time

  • +3

SIM must be activated within 20 days of purchase

wonder if they can delivered to my hand within 20 days

    • +2

you can choose eSIM. it should be straighaway?

  • ugh, just paid $200 for this a few days ago

      • oh right, that's a different plan. Though this one would have worked better for me.

      • appreciate the heads up

      • Damn, although the annoying thing is that I didn't get the cashback because it expired before I activated it.

  • Has anyone tested felix vs amaysim vs vodafone? Are there any differences irl?

    • Vodafone is only 5G without cap? should be faster if all running under coverage?

      • My mistake, thought amaysim was on voda for a minute.

I have a pretty bad reception with amaysim, and struggle a fair bit with felix. Telstra is tolerable, but no unlimited capped or otherwise plans, except for the Jb hifi ones, which doesn't include international calls. As far as replacing NBN with a phone plan is concerned, been contemplating going to voda, if it's better than felix.

    • Speaking from someone in Perth. Had Amaysim 12 mth plan from July - October 2024 and hated the coverage so much that I left and forfeited the remaining months. Went to Felix and loved them and coverage was basically perfect. Since then I’ve just just done Felix promos for a few months then churn out for a month to someone else cheap then churn back to Felix for another few months of promo.

I have the same experience with amaysim, only that I kept the service and switched to $60/year dataless and only use it for phone calls. Felix is workable if I place my phone near the window, gets up to about 10Mbps lol Starting to think I live in a Faraday cage.

  • If you take this overseas, can you get otp's with amaysim?

    • +1

@itslittfam yes for sure. there is a seperate thread here on ozbargain about that. I have traveled to many countries and still go them.

    • +2

Yes, I was able to receive sms while overseas with Amaysim. You have to turn on International roaming on their app/website in order to receive sms.

      • Are you saying you have to purchase the roaming pack or whatever for $20 to be able to recieve OTP's or can you recieve them without paying but just turning on roaming? :)

        • +4

Yes, no need to purchase any roaming pack. Just turn on the international roaming via the amaysim app/website so you can receive sms when overseas. If you don't turn it on you won't receive it. Make sure you turn the international roaming on before flying, because it took a while for it to activate properly. I didn't know this at first & didn't have it on & didn't receive any sms.

I went with tangerine (telstra network) $15 30gig (6 months only) if anyone was interested. I was tempted to post it as a deal

  • Does anyone know if this can be used in a childs watch that requires nano sim and runs on 4g?

  • I've noticed Optus and Optus based MVNOs are having sales where the value is creeping down closer and closer to Vodafone + Vodafone MVNOs, with Vodafone slowly creeping up in price.

Not sure if it's just a coincidence with all the reputation hits Optus has taken over the past few years.

  • Can I tell when the TCB offer is up until?

    • It says "SIM must be activated within 20 days of purchase", but then "Activate by 22/12/25". Which is it?

  • Can existing Amaysim prepaid customers on 365 days plan can port to this and avail cashback?

My plan ends on 30 Nov.

    • The exact date my 365 day plan ends. Last year i got a ripping retention offer, this year nothing.
Looks like ill be porting out, you would have to goto some other provider for a day or so then port back to claim this offer (and in the process lose any data bank)

      • Yeah I have banked data of 300gb too :(

  • Got $45 cash back on $199 with 350GB with 12-month expiry

Both me and my housemate are not able to make or receive calls in our home about 5k from melbourne cbd despite our phones showing coverage. After wasting hours of troubleshooting with amaysim it came down to their own service (obviously). No solution. Just changed provider.
Amaysim and Optus just sucks, you will get issues even if you don’t realise it.. I had people emailing me asking “why is your phone down”. Or as everybody know about the 000 calls simply not working! They don’t deserve a cent

Also they don’t support wifi calling which is a basic feature in 2025

    • +2

They certainly do support wifi calling as i've had it on 2 of my last phones (s23 ultra and current grey import Xiaomi 15 ultra). I suspect your router is stopping this.
As for your other coverage issues YMMV, i havn't personally had a single issue and been with them coming up 2 years.

      • I’ve been with them 5 years.
The issue I have with reception is very sketchy because you would not realise it unless it happens in your home or workplace. There are many places you stay in for a shorter time, and you would not know your phone is not reachable while you’re there!

As for Wifi calling, yes it is supported but only in Australia and not overseas (where you would need it most)

    • Who did you switch to?

      • -1

I haven’t switched yet as I’m overseas but I’ll go for Telstra or Vodafone (or whoever else uses their network). No more Optus, it’s just not good enough

        • Not gonna lie you sound a bit dramatic. If you dont have coverage from a major network how are you just realising it after 5 years lol

        • If you find a good deal that allows incoming calls while not activating international roaming then let me know.
I am looking for a minimum monthly plan to hold my number and receive calls and text, not intending to make outgoing calls.

        • be aware Felix (Vodafone) is the worst I have ever used in my entire life in any country, and Belong (Telstra) is only okish definately not good, I think most/all MVNO resellers are massively oversubscribing users on their towers to maximise profit at customer expense

  • Valid on e-SIM?

  • It sucks that you can’t use this to top up an existing service. I think Kogan’s offers allow you to top up rather than needing to port out and back.

  • +1

How long did this take to track for people?

I did two last night (separate transactions), have the screenshots from top cashback tracking the click, but have no confirmed tracking :(

  • +1

@tightarse I bought this within the TopCashback app yesterday and it still hasn't tracked today. Is this delay normal with Amaysim?

    • Hi. Just checked and I can see a stack of tracked sales so there’s no tracking issue from our perspective. I’m assuming you purchased via wifi rather than mobile data? Found a lot of people buying through work firewalls and DNS AdBlockers on home networks etc. Anyway, please lodge a claim and the team will take care of it. Cheers.

      • Yeah easy I’ve lodged a claim not sure why it didn’t track I’m on home WiFi hopefully it comes through

      • @Tightarse I bought the $45 TCB deal on $199 weeks ago on 26Oct before it expired but it's not tracked even there's click to merchant shown. Any chance they still can be tracked ? I will have to claim a missing cashback at some point
