  • Tnx OP. Good value at this price. Picked one up

Nice. I hope they fixed the rocker button direction to change songs, so it makes sense. The old model if you wear them as intended, if you move the rocker back (direction behind you), it goes forward to the next song and moving the rocker forward (in front of you) takes you back to the start of the song / two press the song before. This has annoyed me every time I have used them for the last 4 years 😂😂 (I have the 4.50BTNC version).

In saying this 4 years on and it still last me over 15hrs (I charge them before on certain days, so my battery never gets low). I would have expected batteries issues, but they are solid. My own issue was the pads started to wear (memory foam died) and I replaced these for $15 after 3 years use from Amazon.

    Big +1 for USB-C

Congrats on losing your post virginity. You found a pretty decent deal.

I have this headset and I hate it. The might've fixed it but sometimes it just says "lost connection" repeatedly for no reason. Good for the price if you can get over it (or if they've fixed it).

    • +1

I have the same issue for more than a year now. No updates what so ever. It happens when you connect to two devices and lost one connection, head phone say "lost connection" again and again continuously. So annoying and unusable.

      • Think this happens with all headsets right? I've got taotronics that does this

        • my Bose QC35 ii can connect to 2 device without constant dropouts, but it does suffer from priority issue, only when one device goes completely silence (like the device stop sending audio signal at all, not like signal with no sound) it will then able to play sound from the other device, vice versa.

which makes it not very useful.

Just heads up these are usually on sale at around this price, never tried them but they look decent for the price! I'm looking for a wireless pc headset myself, waiting see if i can get a hyper x cloud alpha for ~150.

      • wireless

        • Well, it does have a detachable cable. That would make it wireless in a sense!

Look into Bluetooth LE Audio and LC3 latency figures, and don't lock yourself into gaming gear so quickly.

      • Are there any Bluetooth headsets that don't fall back to tin can quality SBC the moment something starts listening to the mic?

        • That would also be a part of the LE Audio standard: increased and adjustable mic bandwidth.

  • Thanks got one

  • Lowest price according to CCC, nice find OP.

    • na $119 is july this year and for 2months it was priced at $139

  • Recently got the red versions from JB. Earcups are smallish but you can get decent replacements for around $20 if they are.
For <$150, sound quality is really, really solid. Can't complain at all for the price

  • Thanks op, picked 1 up

  • Hi, thanks for all the information. Would an owner please comment on the anc? How are they compared to some other well known anc headphones? I know they'll be price differences but interested in your opinions. Thanks so much

    • My 17yo has had two pairs of the Sennheisers over 3 years. He wears them 24/7 except when charging. He really loves them.
That said, my 15yo has Bose QC35iis and refuses to touch the Sennheisers at all.
If you want quality sound and controls, I recommend spending the extra for the better know brands but if you are after a budget model that does a decent job, the Sennheisers will do you well.

Better known brands than Sennheiser?? For headphones?

        • -7

Sennheiser might be well known but they're B tier at their best

        • The 450se /bt sound like ass. The qc35 are better

Sennheiser closed backs in general aren't great

    • this is entry level tier ANC for the brand. works ok for mechanical, repetitive, sustained background hums. not so great for cafe chatter, traffic noise, roisy room.

all brands have multiple tiers of ANC now and you can't get 'best performance' at the cheapest price. Sennheiser has that PXC series and Momentum series as well above this one. Look for those if you like the brand and want better ANC.

I personally had HD4.5BT (the grand parent of this) for 3 months and couldn't stand the muffled sound and poor noise cancellation for my usage, so I upgraded to PXC, used that for a year since it had better ANC, then moved on back to non NC headphone. So alot of it depends on your taste and scenario.

These are going to frustrate you. There are multiple badly thought out buttons. The ear pads are ridiculously uncomfortable. Sound is ok, ANC is ok. Best thing that these did is break within warranty period (on button is stuck) so it can be returned to Amazon.

  • Earpads $3-5 from AliExpress if you search for a size that will fit over-ear , these are on-ear unless you have tiny little ears.
    Otherwise they are unkillable ,
if not loud enough compared to Sony Xm-4 , which I would definitely recommend for twice the price , but for the money these would be good for a commuter to chuck in a backpack.

  • Anyone know who is this pair compared to other budget headphones like Soundcore Q35/Q45?

  • +4

    My two cents:

Get these for the sound.. plus a bit of ANC…

If you prioritise ANC.. go with the sony or bose.. (yes they are more expensive but you have to pay for the ANC)

  • Sound is good, controls are meh. Anc is just on or off and reminds me of old bose ANC its just ok but dont buy them for ANC. Changed to Sony XM4/5. Gave them to my wife but she had dropout issues with her iphone13, never had this issue with my two android devices.

  • Was eyeing these last month but procrastinated too long and the price went up. Meanwhile picked up a brand new pair of AKG N700 MC2 from marketplace for less than the 450SE.
Anyone here used both? and can give a comparison?
    TIA
PS: This is my first time using NC Headphones, so a total novice.

    • +1

The N700NC M2 is a better sounding headphone, performing better in terms of ANC too.

  • I'm pretty sure these have been $99 before via Amazon coupon, and even then it's a skip.

AKG N700NC M2 is a straight up better headphone and should be around for $110-$140, while 1More have just released the SonoFlow in this price tier and I'm expecting good things, but wait for proper reviews.

Bluetooth LE Audio should completely rock the market soon, and this quality of headphone might be only worth $40-$60 in the wake of that change.

  • Are these decent for gaming on pc

    • not what it's designed for, but it could be used that way as long as you connect via BT.

  • Anyone know if these auto power off..? sick of my old pair running flat everyone I forget

  • I have the 450BT, sounds great, good ANC, but the microphone stopped working on it.

  • If you're buying this for the low latency codec like I did in the past be warned. It has compatibility issues with the major BT transmitters.

Lots of into on reddit. It was reported to the company by many people but they never fixed it.

  • Bought these for my wife, has been using my QC35’s for the past few months. Sound quality is better but ANC is only average at best. Sound volume is good and the controls are ok once you get use to them. For the price they have enough features and sound quality to recommend. 20hr battery life is great. My wife has small ears and the pads fit her very well and are very comfortable. She wears glasses and is tolerable but better when not wearing them. We previously tested out the Sony/Bose/Apple and while they were better they were not $300+ better. These are fine for most peoples needs.

Been looking at these for a while, but in the end went with:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/1MORE-Cancelling-Headphones-Blueto…

Will test them on the plane next week. (There is no ANC wired).

So far the mic is really good , ANC in office great and the sound pretty damn good. All for $115.

      Just watched this YouTube review:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMA0PneF4OY
      Not good.

      • Yep watched that ONE before I purchased, but then found heaps and heaps of positive ones. If no good on the plane, they will go back to Amazon.

        https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=1more+sonoflow

        • I have also seen many positive YouTube reviews on these headphones, as well as many other headphones. Makes me wonder if many of those positive reviews are paid or sponsored reviews.

          • @edfoo: They must have paid a lot of it was. Majority are positive from some well regarded YouTubers.

    • Thanks, thinking of getting one of these too

    • Worked great on the plane. Very happy with them and use them as my daily driver on conference calls.

      • Do you find its ANC good enough for airplane? I read so many reviews its ANC is pretty weak.

        • Yes, much better than some old buds. Big difference. Not at the XM3/XM4/XM5 level though. I am not talking about the Sennheiser though.

          • @boxall: Sorry, I thought you were talking about this 450SE. So you were testing the 1More Sonoflow?

            • @edfoo: Yes. That's what I purchased.

  • Price gone up

    • More like the 450SE is out of stock. Only the 450BT available for $192 now.
