  • What's was RRP for these?

    • $5249 suggested by david jones and winning…

    • Keeps dropping, are there known issues with this particular model?

      • I have this model (QN85A) in 55" for the bedroom, it's a good TV. It can get pretty bright too which is great for well-lit rooms.
Haven't had any issues with it yet, I think it's dropping price because it's considered an older model now and they want to clear out existing stock.

I believe there weren't many major changes between this years and last years models, other than the latest TizenOS, support for Xbox Cloud streaming and a few other minor changes

Note: This TV does have built-in ads like almost every other TV on the market, but they can be removed by changing to AdGuard public DNS servers or self-hosting Pi-Hole/Adguard Home.

        • What about snappiness? Is it laggy when using it?

          • @ALBastru: And hows it go with sports i.e Footy

          • @ALBastru: I can't really comment on the UI response times, mine is extremely fast, but this may be because I have uninstalled every app possible on the TV as I use a Chromecast w/ Google TV for streaming apps.

  • How does this compare with a Q70B? This is older, but a higher end model, so I'm having trouble comparing. I've just purchased one for a little under this price, but cancelling seems kind of attractive now…

  • A very good price for an awesome mini led tv. I was in the market and recently ended up getting the 75QN90B but I did do a lot of researching and comparisons and while I think the 75QN90B is a better buy if you want a 2021 tv this is still a very good buy at this price. 85B and 90B are the 2022 variants. With the 2022 variants you basically get extra HDMI 2.1 ports and probably better local dimming if that is of any interest to anyone. The Tizen implementation from the review is better in the 2021 versions compared to the new ones

  • getting the 75QN90B but I did do a lot of researching

Last week I saw JB is doing special for this for under $4000 but still too expensive for me.

    • Other options you can also explore are TCL 835

      Hisense U8H and U9H

The Hisense U8G and U9G were not good as the Australian versions were not the same as the US one but the H series is much more closer from what I've read.

I was very tempted to get the TCL 835 personally before I went with the Samsung. Good value for money these two if you want mini LEDs but don't want to pay the Samsung premium

    Terrible contrast ratio.
I believe this was the model everyone lost their shit over for having a subpar ADS panel.

    • Yeah, the 90A has the VA panel which is the better option.

Like I said above also, do compare this against TCL C835 and Hisense U8H/U9H. Those might be better value for money compared to the 85A

  • Its a massive shame the one connect box was only on the 8K models in australia (I think that's the case)
