Sounds like a great package. Are there any comparable resort deals that allow children?

    • There's an excellent package on Luxury Escapes at the moment for $3000 for 2, flights and 7 nights with breakfast and $500FJD credit at Tokoriki resort. They allow children and have a great kids club, we just got back from there last week and it was amazing… if you're into snorkeling, it's some of the best in house snorkeling in Fiji.

if you're into snorkeling, it's some of the best in house snorkeling in Fiji.

That's a big call! Maybe around Nadi.

        That's a great price. So it was ~$6k for 2 adults + 2 kids?

What did you use your $500 credit on, dinner & drinks?

        • +6

It's in the Mamanuca's …. not Nadi. I'm a marine ecologist and Divemaster, so fairly confident in my call ;) And by in house, I mean 100m off the beach, as in you don't have to take a tour to get great snorkelling. We saw octopus, rays, sharks, morays and incredibly healthy and abundant coral and fish diversity. We actually didn't purchase this package as I booked at the start of the year, I just saw the package the other day when browsing deals and thought it was a great deal. You would need to use the credit on food and beverage as that was the only downside of the resort… the food was super expensive. The $3k is for 2 adults, I think kids stay and eat free there, so I assume it would be cheaper than 6k if you were to add kids.

@surfsiren85: Re snorkeling. Maybe the expectation here before your reply was 'I've seen a few TV shows on snorkeling i think its good!' Vs reality of 'I'm a marine ecologist and Divemaster, so fairly confident in my call'.

            BOOM

          • @surfsiren85: A few years ago I spent 6wks doing a dive/backpacking trip around fiji islands.

IMHO snorkeling & diving the islands off Nadi (yes I call it near Nadi) weren't as good as on Yasawa, Taveuni or Kadavu.

But on that side of the coast, I thought Mantaray Island was the stand out.

Subjective yes, cyclones may have changed things since I was there, but from my experience I still say that's a big call.

          • @surfsiren85: So $1500 ish per adult?

            • @tunzafun001: Yes, I just did a dummy booking and it came up as 5k for 2 adults, 2 kids.

      • Is this the deal? https://luxuryescapes.com/au/offer/sheraton-resort-spa-tokor…
        Has it gone up $971?

        Thanks!

        • +1

Yes that's the one :) It's currently showing as $3297 for me, so maybe it depends on where you're flying from and where you're booking. Also, if you enter the weekly lux escapes competition on the app, you get to spin the wheel for a prize, a few times I've gotten 10% off, so well worth doing!

    • Yes. Check out this deal: https://holidayroo.com.au/fijifamily Great family friendly-resort on Malolo Lailai Island. You get Flights with Qantas/Fiji Airways + 7 Nights Accommodation at Plantation Island Resort + Breakfast from $2,854 TOTAL for a family of 3 (=2 adults + 1 child). That's only $951 per person. Travelling as a bigger family? No problem. Just adjust your search accordingly. Great rates for family of 4 too.

      • ✈️ + 🛏️ Package available from different departure airports:
$2,763 TOTAL for a family of three (ex. BRISBANE)
$2,854 TOTAL for a family of three (ex. SYDNEY)
$3,182 TOTAL for a family of three (ex. MELBOURNE)

Plus in the fine print $570 for 2 adults and 1 child to get the boat to the island.

          • @bennybaubles: Yes. Boat transfers to the islands in Fiji usually need to be booked separately. It's FJ$475 return for 2 adults and 1 child so would be around AU$317.
