Any good deals on DJI Action 3?

    • +2

      Nah, no action there.

  • This or the Air 2S with better comparable functionality/ value and 1st drone owner in mind. Don't mind spending the extra on AIR 2S but I just want a drone to check happenings on the farm and basic photos / videos. TIA

I chose this primarily for its weight because drone regulations are getting increasingly stringent everywhere but sub 250g drones (like this Mini 3) can still enjoy a little more freedom. For example, you’ll need to register all drones weighing more than 250g even for recreational use and may even get accredited to fly one starting mid next year, you also can’t fly heavier drones within a 5.5km radius from an airport (this impacts more areas than you’d think as there are lot of small and regional airports use this site to check : https://ok2fly.com.au/ ). Its not just in Australia, lot of countries have relaxed regulations for sub 250g drones. Therefore, if you are planning to fly for fun this is IMHO is the better choice. The camera on the Mini 3 is quite good, have a look at some online reviews and videos, most reviewers say you don’t need anything better if you are just a hobbyist.

      • Completely agree, I live close to an airport, it was very easy to apply for an exemption for a drone under 250g to fly it at my house. I only wanted to be able to practice, but its nice not to have to drive 10min away just to put it in the air.

    • Mini 3 is a generation in front and the video controller package is worth it. Mini 3 also has Fly More kits that have huge extended range batteries, giving something like 40 minutes airtime. It's a good choice especially for a first timer. Hell, I've got a Mavic 2 and an FPV and I'm going to get this.

      • Mini 3 for its size defo

  • Hey guys, any stores in Melbourne can do the price beat?
    Officeworks - do not sell
Anaconda Narrewarren - said can't do it on Drones

    Thank you

    • it requires a code so unlikely youll get a pricematch.

it is circa 1150 via good guys commercial or jbhifi friends and family portals

      • GG commercial dont sell this no more

    • Try your luck with JB or HN.
You may not get a price beat, but may get some discount, for example I was able to get $80 off at JB over chat a few weeks back.

    • Officeworks don’t sell the DJI Mini 3 Pro so, no they wont lol 😂

  • Hi OP, is there any cheaper drones you seen around $400 mark? thanks

    • I’ve seen the DJI Mini SE just below the $400 mark before, but its currently selling at the RRP of $459 at retailers like JB and Direct from DJI store. From what I've read the SE is essentially a re-release of the original mini in the mini 2 body at a cheaper price.
