          That being said, I'm not impressed with the leather quality of RM's non-boot products and would advise against spending $400 on a briefcase of questionable quality.

            @dogsryummy: Wasn't a joke and never been fussed about fake internet points, there are some brands that come up all too often - and the same thing is said over and over again. I'm expressing an opinion that I believe a $416.50 so called 'briefcase' is not an ozbargain, not a bargain, in any universe or dimension. I'm sure others have different opinions so here we go again. RM Williams including boots aren't a bargain - particularly because it's such a frequent occurrence. Best one could say is it's not too bright to pay full price for RM Williams. Ever. Not in sale this week? Then come back next week or the week after.

              @seamonkey: I just dropped $6k on an LV handbag for my gf, so this much bigger $400 bag now seens like a bargain to me. That's what you call perspective :-D

              End of the day, some brands will always cost more than others. What is not a bargain to you will always be a bargain to someone else out there. I just appeciate this website for the ideas and options that it provides, and then I make the decision whether it's a bargain or not.

                @PleasureMe: Exactly. I hope I made that point, I attempted to. It's not a bargain to me and I think I mentioned others may be of a different opinion. We fundamentally have a different idea of what a bargain is. A Lamborghini doesn't make a Hyundai a bargain, it's simply a different market, again, my opinion. I wouldn't give my wife a $600 bag, the fact that you'd give your gf a 6k really just makes you an awesome dude. We recently got a NordicTrack X32i Incline Trainer for over 5k. You haven't said otherwise but the price we pay for things and bargains are 2 very different beasts

                    @thestig: Nah mate, 6k is a waste, can go out now ans get a 10k, its just pocket change but im just built differently and want all my children to be like me, look for deals, want a 6k purse find the same thing for 1k.
                    Just like this briefcase, $600 find the same thing for under 200.

                      If you're talking purely function a $200 Bellroy bag from Ozbargain would do the same thing and probably last as long. But I guarantee it wouldn't put the same smile on the face of the person who wants the 6k bag each time they wear it.

                      That's your opinion and you do you. But try to understand that other things make other people happy. You can't put a price on happiness. As long as people are living within their means and their kids are taken care of, if splurging on luxuries makes them happy, I say go for it!

                      Who knows…Maybe the girl who walks into the office each day with her 6k LV bag walks in with the confidence and positivity that gets her noticed, given opportunities on big projects, and promoted multiple times. Then Mrs Michael walks in with her $200 Bellroy bag from Ozbargain slings it across her desk in a huff, puts her head down, churns out her BAU work 9 to 5, is never chosen for opportunities to progress and earns less than half each year.
                      Suddenly the $6k bag wasn't such a waste….or maybe that will never happen because we live in a perfect world where all decisions in the workplace are based 100% on merit and subjective factors such as personality, presentation and attitude play no part.
