[OnePass] Leatherman Supertool 300 w/ Nylon Sheath $109 Delivered @ Catch

150

Requires OnePass (OnePass Exclusive). Sold and delivered by catch.

I bought this in December from Amazon for $139.58. It is larger and more robust than the Wave/Charge and others, has a dedicated 3D phillips head driver. The knife and saw are not quite as nice as the Wave/Charge, having a more traditional pocket knife shape with less belly. The overall feel is less "rounded" and less refined than the Wave/Charge. Unlike the Wave/Charge the knife and other tools are not liner-locked and have a release lever on the back.

Lowest 3rd party price on 3 camels was $128.81 on May 09, 2021. Current price on Amazon is $209.95.

Blurb:

The award-winning, Leatherman Supertool 300 is the multi-tool for the worker in all of us. Larger pliers are the strong and sturdy and the sloped-top handle design means you can maneuver them further into tight spaces. When you're working with gloves on, the large side cutouts make it easy to still grab components and rolled handles make for a comfortable grip for whatever job needs doing!

Having a Leatherman post without the obligatory jv $8 multi tool comment just wouldn't feel right.

      • Especially when for most people, they do pretty much the same thing…

how much did you spend on your mobile phone?
if it's more than $200 then you can probably get a phone for less than that that does the job for most people

            @billsa:

how much did you spend on your mobile phone?

$400 and I use it every day.
With the multi-tool, it probably gets used about 6 times per year.

            • @jv: I guess you're one of the few people left that still spend their money wisely
most people I know spend $1000+ on their phone every few years and most likely don't use it anywhere near its full potential

How many Leathermans do you own?

        • +7

Do you want the number I tell my wife or the real number?

        • Way too many!

  • Does anyone own this? Is it worth $109?

      Is it worth $109?

No, just get the Aldi one when it's on sale.

  • +5

yeah its ok. not my favourite. All the tools are on the inside- so you have to open the pliers to get to the knifes etc. No scissors etc. This is more a set of pliers than a more flexible multitool, from my usage.

its big, about the size of the surge (which has tools on the outside)

  • Seems to be a good price but it'll be heavy - I remember having to pull my pants up when I carried supertool 1/200 in belt holster

Please don't compare any Leatherman to the made-in-China-and-watch-me-rust Aldi version…

    • What do you think of the $58 Gerber at Bunnings?

    • watch-me-rust Aldi version

no rust on mine. it looks like it did as new and very sturdy construction.

      • +1

Yeah, but you only use it 6 times a year… ;)

        • Exactly, and it still doesn't rust, unlike the leathermans

  • Apparently the retailer can place restrictions on onepass. Are there any for catch? Eg target excludes clearance items being delivered via onepass which is ridiculous

  • Can I get that in English?

God damn stop posting these I don't need another one!

You do because I just bought one. Thanks OP.

Internal open tools are fine. i bought the Rebar (which is essential a smaller Supertool 300 with 1 less tool) a week ago from catch when it was on sale at $78, and honestly, I'd rather take the Rebar with me than my Wave+. Don't get me wrong, the Wave+ is a much more premium feeling tool and feels more like a Knife/Piler with extra tools, while the Rebar/Supertool feels more like a Piler with tools. but the Wave is bulkier and heavier, so it sits on my desk, while Rebar goes in my pocket or toolbag.

I believe the Supertool is just a little heavier than the Wave+/charge but much bigger and heavy duty, i prefer the blocker piler heads over the rounded ones in the wave/charge.
major difference is the Supertool doesn't have scissors, bit holder (but does have a better 3d Philips head that can take an adaptor) and doesn't have the diamond file.

I'd say its a solid buy if you need some heavy duty pilers
