Hey mate, email us on [email protected] with the micro pc specifications you are after. Thank you!

      • Hi untech, by any chance does this come with the 4 x 3.5 inch hard drive bays?

Stop yelling! You're hurting my ears.

      Acting like a child.

  • Any good for a budget gaming rig ?

    • +3

Overkill. The Xeon are server chips and you don't need 32gb for gaming. Also quadro is a workstation card and can run games but not really well (cause of price and other shit).

    • Absolutely not. Multicore speed around the same as the AMD 5600, single core speed about 20% slower.

Intel's workstation CPUs are completely different architecture to their desktop variants, while the ringbus topology used in intel desktop CPUs gives them an edge in gaming over AMD's infinity fabric, the mesh topology used in their 10 core + CPUs is actually far slower than both (which is why even Intel's upcoming 13th gen will not have more than 8 cores).

The graphics performance will be less than a GTX 1050.

Overall these machines are not good value

    To save people a google;
    Intel® Xeon® W-2155 Processor is a Skylake
    10C 20T
    3.3 base 4.5 turbo
    140W TDP

    Quadro K2200 is a 750Ti
    Quadro P1000 is a 1050

    • +1

yes also ram is DDR4. speed is unlisted though. overpriced for what it is for gaming and normal office use

      • +2

For workstation, this is a fair price. Not recomended for gaming, and not for everyone.
But most office that require to use workstation will probably already update to the new machine.

      • its probably ddr4 ecc 2133 or 2400

but then with 32gb you wont need to upgrade

  • Weird depend how you spec it getting p1000 pushing price +$200 instead of +$100.

    Eg 64GB, 1TB, then upgrade from K2200 to P1000, +$200, every other combo +$100

    • better off ordeing with no video card because really, any modern 3060 6600 etc. would be better for most people

  • +1

Are the motherboards in these a standard size?
Looking to upgrade my Unraid build and already have a case that fits all my hard drives.

Can we get a confirmation on the ram specs? interested to know if ECC or not.

    • Four channel memory up to 512GB 2666MHz and up
      to 256GB 2933MHz DDR4 (RDIMM) ECC memory.

      (Up to 256GB 2666MHz DDR4 (UDIMM) Non-ECC
      memory) 8 DIMM slots.

Note: Memory speed is dependent on specific Intel
Xeon or Core X Processor installed.

dell like lenovo and hp post a lot of white papers, service manuals for all their professional units

but if the options are 32 or 64gb you probably wont be upgrading anyway… and only 4 slots

    • Hi Aarent. The ram is indeed ECC. these machines have skhynix 16gb 2666V RE1 PC4 sticks.

Intel Xeon W-2155 has a similar performance as amd 5600x which is only draws 65w.

    • Sure, but the 5600X is a $400+ CPU on its own.

      • +1

Sure, but the 5600X is a $400+ CPU on its own.

Not anymore, you can get a 5600X for under $300, or a 5600G for as low as $228 which is only marginally slower but has built in graphics better than a Quadro K2200 (which BTW is a very weak GPU by todays standards). All in all you can build a new PC with similar or better performance for a similar price. This IMHO is not worth $800+ at all, given its around 5 years old and use a power hungry CPU, these machines are also quite bulky. IMHO these are not worth more than $500 at most given the age and performance. These machines may have retailed for $5k back in 2017, but that's irrelevant now.

        • the only reason you'd get this dell is if you truly truly need 10 cores 20 threads

and quadros are really crap outside of professional use

i agree $800 is a bit much IMO

I have a pair of z420 440s and they used to be under $300 prior to covid and they are ok at that price but… yeah… might as well got current at $800

            @tonyjzx:

the only reason you'd get this dell is if you truly truly need 10 cores 20 thread

In that case IMO better to pay ~$250 more and build a new machine with a 5900X that has 12 cores and 24 threads but performs almost twice as fast as a Xeon W-2155.

I'm looking to upgrade my home server, and been looking at old xeons on eBay, but these are being listed for unreasonable prices. I can't justify paying close to $1k on old decommissioned hardware. which is why I am now leaning towards building a Ryzen based computer myself.

        • I disagree that the 5600g is marginally slower, it will actually be significantly quicker in most situations due to the higher single core performance.

  • Hi OP, how long would it take to post to WA?

  • +1

    Hi there,
It will 1 business day to process the order and 3-5 business days for the delivery via AU post. Thank you
