  • Is fallout 76 free with Amazon prime gaming or only in USA?

    • +2

You can get it now on Amazon Prime Gaming. You get a key to redeem on the Microsoft Store. Not ideal but it is free. Few errors along the way but I have managed to get it running.

Same, couldn't get it run or connect to Bethesda network first few times, but somehow managed to work later, not sure what's wrong.

        • I played it a while ago but got distracted by another game and never went back to it. I found it to be an alright game, nothing compared to 3, NV & 4 though.

I am so sad fallout tactics does not get the recognition it deserves

    • I never ended up finishing it. I'm pretty sure I was playing it on Insane Tough guy difficulty and I'm guessing I was on one of the last levels. I think my team got stuck somewhere, probably on a door frame or rock outcropping and I pretty much rage quit and never went back.

I finished it at least 10 times as a young teen. Back then we didn’t have internet at my parents place so not like I really had a choice.

After the robots get introduced it definitely gets way harder. Pretty much had to quick save scum my way through the last quarter of the game. Forever spamming super stims.

I remember playing a total conversion mod for it called Awaken, really enjoyed that game.

Fallout tactics was a strange game. Never really fit properly especially guns, the lore had a few misses as well

      • Did you ever play Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel? One of the biggest reasons I played it was the soundtrack. Don't remember much else about the game.

    • +2

It was developed in Australia, it's the game that got me into Fallout, via a demo on a PC Powerplay disc.

After playing the Tactics demo, I found a copy of Fallout 1 in a EB bargain bin, and was hooked.

Fallout 2 was a unicorn for a couple of years, until a family friend gave me a burned copy of a burned copy from his neighbour who had 256Kbps "Broadband".

    These are also discounted on GoG for DRM Free fans;

I would buy fallout 3 on gog only as the steam version seems very hit and miss on windows 7/10/11

Fallout New Vegas I'd be more confident to recommend on Steam (currently cheaper, gog version is great too I'm sure)

Fallout 4 is cheaper $11.68 on Greenmangaming https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/fallout-4-goty-edition-…

Edit: Fallout 1 and 2 also slightly cheaper at $3.18 each and Fallout 4 VR $19.11

Hell of a game Fallout New Vegas…

    • Oh yes

    • I prefer Fallout 4 to NV.

      • +2

I prefer the gameplay of Fallout 4 but thought the world and story of New Vegas was better.

    • they need to do a remake :(

  • +1

Fallout Classic Collection (Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics) is also $7.48

That fallout franchise bundle is amazingly bad value, if you buy the items separately its cheaper than buying the bundle.

    • Will have to wait until they have Fallout 76 at a reasonable regular price to even consider getting this at any discount. Even at 85% off it's still over $55.

      • You can get 76 with a prime subscription this month along with a bunch of other games. That being said I think it's possibly one of the worst games I've played after trying it a few days ago, it's completely taken the shine off Bethesda and reading that many of their senior devs from their past successes quit because of F76 and nobody wanted to work on it has made me realize that Bethesda as it was might well be gone now.

        • I've only played it a few minutes so far. I will have to try it properly. I've played all of the Fallout games but my fav is still probably Fallout 2. I don't think I would have played 3 or NV much if it weren't for the modding community. I've play Fallout 4 quite a bit too but I probably didn't really play it properly. I just mucked around with mods and hardly did any of the main quest. Game/save eventually got so unstable I couldn't do much without CTDs and haven't gone back to it for a year or two. Same could probably be said of Skyrim though…

  • Never got around to play any of these, would be interesting to play now as preparation for seemingly coming events…
