    Are these actually bright?

    • +8

Yes at max mode they are exceedingly bright

      • +13

Thanks bought one. Down the rabbit hole I go.

        • +2

On max brightness it will be like day down that rabbit hole. You should be fine jist watch out for snakes.

      • +4

Oh jeez, just bought another one as a gift.

        • +2

I hoarded "LUMINTOP EDC01 Keychain Flashlight " for this purpose lol

    • +3

      Yeh, pretty bright spotty beam
Good little light, 4 brightness levels you can cycle through without having to skip through strobe/SOS and has mode memory.
Did purchase for around $25 though.

    • Yup, love mine. Seem to hold charge decently well too. Only draw back i've noticed if any is that they get quite hot after prolonged use but that doesn't seem unusual at all.

      • +3

Yeah that is normal, the higher the brightness the higher the battery use the hotter it gets. Even the expensive models are not immune to physics.

  • +7

I think this is good and not a bad price … but the OzB spirit is not letting me purchase for >$25

    • -2

      You will regret this :)

      • ok might bite the bullet since CR and SB are 5.6% for Home Improvement and this is for some reason in that category

  • +4

I've bought this recently, and I have to say this is the best torch you can buy for $30. Extremely impressed

    • +1

Bought this six months ago, is a really decent buy

  • -2

    18650 Battery?

    I think its a 2600mAh Rechargeable Battery

    • +6

18650 is the size. 2600mAh is capacity. Google is where you search for this.

  • +3

I can recommend this it’s Lit

  • Watched the video on amazon, it's bright! Need to get up in the roof to do some stuff so this should be useful.

    Bought one thanks nuker!

  • Is the C2 worth the higher price?

  • How's the battery life? It says 'up to 143 hours in Eco mode' - how bright is Eco? That's a long time.

    • Watched YouTube video review.

      https://youtu.be/tVlq56UThRE

Eco is like 5 lumens so good for what's right in front of you when (like 5m)

Low is like 20 hours or something at 80 lumens

Medium is like 4 hours at 400 lumens

On high it gets like 2.5 hours at 1200 lumens but will probably melt your hand well before that.

  • Anyone know a good mount for bike handlebars?

    • +2

      https://www.olightstore.com.au/olight-fb-1-bike-mount-bike-m…

haven't tried it yet, since the mount that came with my rn1500 is still fine but that's what i would pick

      • +1

I've got the Olight mount with a Wuben C3 and it's great.

        • +1

Ditto Olight &wuben C3 have seen me through daily winter commute really well. Can move a bit, but very easily adjusted on the fly to pick the best angle (you need to point angled down not straight it'll blind everyone otherwise)

          • +1

@rwps: my handlebars were a little too skinny for the rn1500's mount, so i used a foam strip with adhesive backing to wrap around the bar and found the light stayed in place longer and also reduced that light wobbling effect. you could also use some bar tape but i didn't have any on hand.

      • Ahh, the shipping cost kills the deal.

        • If you buy 3 it works out cheaper per unit. There might be cheaper sellers, I didn't look too hard, just picked this store because they have sold lots.

    • +1

Worth noting that going over bumps might simulate a button press if the battery rattles around enough.

I ended up making custom firmware for my bike torches as they kept cycling through brightness levels on bumpy roads.

These got recommended to me in a die hard torch Facebook group. Been really great for our family. I go mountain biking with it on and has only come off in a crash.

(The olight linked above is meant to be good too)

      • Hmm do you know what torch diameter ranges apply to bracket A vs bracket B?

        • No I do not sorry, but bracket A fits the Wuben C3 perfectly.

  • Are we sure it comes with a battery? The description says batteries not included and batteries not required. How confusing!

Well I guess I can let you know tomorrow when it gets here.

Number of batteries 1 CR123A batteries required.
    Batteries Included? ‎No
    Batteries Required? ‎No

The amazon technical details definitely needs updating

"The pocket flashlight is 4.78in long"

    Assembled Height ‎1 centimetres
    Assembled Length ‎1 centimetres
    Assembled Width ‎0.98 centimetres

    • In "Customer questions & answers" people say yes, comes with battery.

      • Thanks!

    • +2

Got it this morning, very happy with the torch. It is exceedingly bright! It does remember the last brightness setting so you don't have to flick through all of them everytime. Also comes with a couple of spare O rings so it keeps it's IP68 water proof rating over time.

And yes it comes with a 2600mAh 18650 Wuben brand battery!

  • +3

Great torch for the money, but it’s been much cheaper. I have two, one purchased for $26 and the second one purchased for $19 a week later.

  • +1

I'm surely not the only one who would prefer my torch to just have one mode?
It's a PITA having to cycle through modes when turning a torch on and off within a short period.

    • +4

It remebers the last mode when you turned it off so it basically does what you asked but gives you additional modes as well.

      • Oh, this is good, then.

      • +1

yep. But I'd still prefer separate button for modes, I had it on Fenix PD32 which I lost this weekend :(

    • +1

It remembers the last mode I believe

    • +1

As already said it does have mode memory, and I quite like that they kept the strobe and SOS modes separate too (requires double press to switch to those, no need to skip through when cycling brightness)

    • I bought the Wurkkos FC11 recently and I felt old because it was a bit frustrating learning how to use all the modes. I ended up not bothering with the functions that I won't use, such as strobe, and just figured out how to turn it on and off and cycle through the brightness levels. Crazy to think that torches at this price range have so many functions and are so bright. Makes the maglites of the past seem like major rip offs.

  • Better off with a Sofirn, but I do love the design of these. Very sleek.

    • any nice Sofirn with 18650 and around $30? Edited: SC31 Pro probably, but no tail switch

      • Speak of the devil. I just received my Sofirn SC31 Pro as well as their AA-battery powered SC10 Pro this afternoon, quite impressed so far. Can't wait to test out these torches against my old Fenix LD20, ThruNite TN4A and Gentos GB-33TFT headlight this weekend (after all the raining has stopped).

P.S. If you like one with tail switch, there is the SC31T.

        • …and he shall appear.

          • @Skinnerr: Principal Skinner is not a devil…

      • I just had 2 SC18's delivered today. Nice little lights and pretty bright with turbo at 1800 lumens. On Aliexpress it comes in under $30 delivered. No tail switch as well though.

    How does r/flashlight rate this?

    • +1

      How does /b/ rate this?

    • +2

      Not as badly as r/fleshlight.

      • I see what you did there… Here's my upvote!

  • Anyone know how this compares to the Wurkkos FC11? I bought one of those not too long ago from a deal posted here, but seems to be deleted now?

These led torches are insane compared to the old school halogen globes. The maglites used to be heavy and big and wasted so many batteries. These are much cheaper in comparison.

    • +1

The maglites used to be heavy and big

that's part of their appeal. they just happen to be able to emit some light. i always have one in my car, along with some proper torches

      • I did read security guards used to carry those as makeshift batons. What do you carry? I've got a 3D one and that's chunky enough to do some serious damage to a person.

        • some still do (biggest i've seen a guard carry was a 2d), but most just carry led lensers or something similar in size to this wuben. for e.g. at a uni campus, a big maglite would be overkill for the locale and image they're trying to project.

the one in my car's a 3d as well. i "upgraded" it to a dorcy led bulb and added a glass breaker tail cap. have a 6d lying around somewhere…it's still in its box and is a fancy blue one so i don't want to get scratches on it lol

          • @tdw: 6D would be like a small bat

            • @warmfruit: for those impromptu late-night baseball games ;)

  • No coupon showing up anymore. :(

    • I still see it … yep, gone

      • Maybe targeted. Not showing up on Prime w mobile app

Flashlights are moving to the new 21700 size battery now, 18650 is fine but it is considered old. Dyor.

    • You're right bu it still works fine. 👍

    • +1

Feels more like the flashlight manufacturers just trying to convince the consumers to spend all over again on their newer 21700 size torches, after we have already bought all the 18650 size torches we wanted, like what has happened to AA size torches shifting to 18650 previously. There is nothing wrong with AA and 18650 torches, we all have lived with them fine for so long, there is no need for bigger and brighter 21700 torches really. Just them wanting to keep up their sales and income for coming years, not like the night is getting darker and we need more light than before, or we all becoming more blind and need more light. What will happen in 5-10 years time, will they introduce a new range of torches using different size battery all over again, so we have to start buying these new torches?

      • It's a little more complicated than just selling more stuff, cars are all moving to 21700 so thats where mass market is headed, the energy density increase is huge over 18650 for not much of a physical size difference, once you switch you'll notice but its fine to stay on 18650, just sharing for anyone new to this.

    • strong disagree, 18650 is not going anywhere

  • Did I I need it? No…

Did I want it?!?YES! Thx OP.

  • Second link shows 20% Off again, unexpired this

  • In regard to battery:

    1. can a non-protected battery be used in this torch?

    2. can a non-protected battery be charged in this torch?

    Thank you

    • Yes and yes. But they say Cautiously in manual

  • Good deal but I wish more of these LED torches had the adjustable lens.

  • Just received mine and it's not working, very dissapointed.

    • Is it possible to do with the battery?
I am still waiting for the delivery.
