This deal will go off with a bang!

    • +3

      These puns are shocking

  • +6

These will last six months if you use one at a time. Absolute garbage.

    • +13

I have 2 different models (2 each) of HEYMIX chargers over the last 12 months and never missed a beat.

      • +6

Mine is great too but you can’t deny they have QA issues.

That said they’re all different models; we don’t even know if they’re the same manufacturer. HEYMIX is just a sticker on Aliexpress stuff.

  • how many watt? oh probably 2400w

    • +5

      oh, i thought it was 5v*2.1a=10.5w ;)

  • +7

    Explosive deal OP

  • +7

I try not to post Heymix deals now due to its terrible reputation (despite never having any problems with the chargers myself) but hey, it is what it is…

  • Thanks OP.

  • These are NOT 18w, 25w! Used to be fast charging standard (possibly still it is) but it wouldn't charge your latest phone very fast.

  • +16

I once used the 65W “gan” charger from Heymix, was such a bad idea. I think it sent excessive voltage when it was charging my power bank, frying its internals and producing a burnt toxic chemical smell. I contacted the seller about it, they blamed the power bank for not being certified to Australian standards and not “rejecting” the excessive voltage. I didn’t think much of it and used the charger to charge my ipad air 5th gen. Next thing, my ipad air does not turn on anymore nor charges. I ended up getting it returned to Costco instead of getting it repaired by Apple to avoid the wait time. I suspect that this was due to they Heymix charger but there are other possibilities.

As the cherry on top, I left a negative product review. The seller ended up making a new product page/listing and left the old one. They also managed to remove my negative seller review and possibly sent me a letter through express aus post impersonating another competitor to scare me (I think, I got the letter a few days after the issue and my complaint)

I've seen a story just like that play out on a 35W Heymix Gan charger in the amazon reviews.

The buyer has a negative experience with the charger frying something, seller dodges all blame then creates a new listing to hide the 1star review

    • What kind of letter?

There are multiple sellers of Heymix products. That particular charger wasn't sold by this seller.

Theres is possibly variation in quality by seller.

IMO, there are too many unknowns and the brand should be avoided.

The letter sent reads as follows:

Hi (my reviewer name) (via your nick name in some platform)
Greetings from Zyron Tech, thanks for your all effort to help us beat our competitor.
Don't worry, they won't know where your live and who you are, you will be safe.
        Best Regards
        Your Dear

Zyron rep once threw a heap of accusations at me here on OzBargain when I criticised the price of one of their charges. The mods removed their comment, but still their response was seriously uncalled for and unprofessional.

        • +2

Also to add on, I did contact Zyron Tech and they denied that they sent me this letter. They recommend me to contact Auspost to find out who originally sent me the letter, the Auspost agent couldn’t help me as I did not have the tracking number. The Zyron Tech seller’s grammar was much more better than that in the letter. This letter has the same foreign tone to that of the Chargerking seller. But again, I cannot pinpoint who actually sent me this letter.

@FrugalFindsDownUnder: I think there's something dodgy going on with the Amazon reviews of these rebranded chargers.

It would be worth contacting Amazon support and mentioning that letter. It almost sounds like a threat.

        • That’s quite bizarre either way. I can’t see the reason why the original seller or their competitor would send you a letter like that.

          • @warmfruit: We can only speculate unfortunately.

Maybe they truly suspect Zyron's involvement or send them out hoping l catch someone out.

The Zyron associated user hints at something going on regarding Amazon reviews here:
            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12741268/redir

Reading through the reviews on Amazon, there are a lot of red flags - for example usernames to con users like "vine reviewer," "Belkin AU".

We may even have dodgy users here - users who appear to shill for Heymix or other cheap chargers.

Charger wars is yet another reason to avoid these rebranded chargers.

It's so nice to have a fan club, particularly when you keep going to the trouble to put links to my previous comments, I laugh and I laugh, thanks!!

        • Welcome to the discussion, Heymix shill.

          • @ihfree: Oh no name calling, how low can you go.

            • +1

@PukeyLuke: Any thoughts as to the legitimacy of the Ozbargain users here who have issues with their Heymix chargers?

              • Threatening letters
              • Burnt out cables
              • Dead devices
    • As the cherry on top, I left a negative product review.

Where did you leave your review? On Amazon or ProductReview.com.au?

possibly sent me a letter through express aus post impersonating another competitor to scare me

Did you leave any identifying information within your review? Seems somewhat bizarre to spend a physical letter. What a bunch of ****s!!!

      • +1

My review was left on Amazon for the product. There was no personal information in my review whatsoever which is very strange as it was fulfilled by Amazon. I did try to contact CS to open an investigation, but the seller “Chargerking” is still selling on Amazon.

        • +1

I am curious on the content of the letter. Did they ask you to remove the review, otherwise threaten harm?

I did try to contact CS to open an investigation

Complete bunch of muppets. Most of them are based in Philippines. They will make a lot of promises just to get you off the phone.

          • @DoctorCalculon: The letter sent reads as follows:

Hi (my reviewer name) (via your nick name in some platform)
Greetings from Zyron Tech, thanks for your all effort to help us beat our competitor.
Don't worry, they won't know where your live and who you are, you will be safe.
            Best Regards
            Your Dear

I did contact Zyron Tech after about this and they denied sending me this letter. Its either that Chargerking is impersonating their competitor or Zyron Tech did actually send me this weird letter.

            • +1

@FrugalFindsDownUnder: How would Zyron have your details if you haven't dealt with them before?

              • @ihfree: I did buy one of their power banks a few months back but it was through FBA.

                • @FrugalFindsDownUnder: Still, there's no way Zyron could know about your order, especially if you haven't reviewed other products on Amazon.

  • +4

Reviews with images - picture of the charger with a hole in it. This is one to avoid.

  • +4

Avoid any products from heymix! I purchased a 65w three ports charger and it cannot charge three devices simultaneously. Moreover, if I connect the second device to its usb-c ports, the first device will be only charged slowly.

    • Yeah. I had one of the Heymix GaN 65W three port chargers as well. Mine died in the first week. I always suspected that Heymix chargers daisy chain the ports when there's more than one port. Some of their single port, non-GaN chargers seem OK, but just not worth risk with connecting expensive products to them.

I would never buy or recommend a Heymix charger ever again.

Heymix has registered some of their products with ERAC (Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council) in Australia, however, they reuse the same product certification for different product listings with different specifications which is a red flag and goes against how the registration should be used.

      https://equipment.erac.gov.au/Public/Profiles.aspx?Applicati…

I'm sure OP had good intentions, but negging this deal to help protect others.

  • +3

Just to add on - Bought a Heymix wall plug (not this exact model) several months ago. I hadn't seen the negative reviews on OZB at that point. Just found it cheap on Amazon.

Few weeks ago it let off a flash in front of me and burnt out both cables I had plugged in.

Won't risk it with this brand again.

  • +5

Friends don't let friends buy Heymix. Enemies on the other hand…

    • The best advice!

  • +3

Had one of these, kept hissing due to the shitty capacitors inside from Day 1, was not going to risk it and threw it away. Do not recommend. There is a reason why it's so cheap.

  • +1

Are all generic Ali express chargers to be avoided or just this brand?

    • +2

Most of the cheap chargers are white-labelled products.

I think the consensus is that cheap USB chargers from online marketplaces should be avoided unless they are from a reputable brand (e.g., Anker, Belkin or OEM).

      Edit:

Just pointing out that Heymix uses dodgy registration that says their products comply with AS/NZS 62368.1:2018 (an Australian standard for electrical safety). I've noticed that Heymix re-use their registrations for completely wall charger products, which is not how the registration should be used.

This means Heymix may say their product complies with the relevant AU safety standards, but it is not necessarily true. Basically, a clever way to make their product appear more credible than it really is.

  • I have 3 of the 20w USB A + USB C variant.

Haven't had any issues so far but not fitting into any recessed power point like an extension cord is a pain and the plugs also don't fit in the power points perfectly so are a bit wobbly in power boards.

Would pay a bit more for something decent.

  • I just had a Heymix (45w) charger do the magic smoke.
Good thing the house is protected by an RCD or it might be on fire.

    • It killed my Google tv :(
