does it only work with homekit?

    • yes, and there are other cheap options if you are with alexa/google home

Please suggest the cheap options 🙏

    • works very well with homekit.

Yes for now, only HomeKit and Home Assistant. The contact sensor and smart plug have both Bluetooth and Thread, so soon they will be updated to support a new smart home standard called Matter. This means soon it should work with all major ecosystems (Google, Amazon, HomeKit, SmartThings, Home Assistant etc.).

The Motion sensor only has Bluetooth so will not will not likely get native Matter support.

      • Looks like the smart plug is the older model that doesn't have thread? Amazon notes the newer one on that page for $69…

        • That’s true. Thanks, good pickup!

Seems expensive for just one sensor

    • 1) does not 'dial home', so you can fully network isolate this, and it still works.
      2) integrates with homekit

  • Can it see the power watts and power consumption directly from the Home App instead of from the EVE app? I have a Cygnett power plug. It can only see the power watts form its own app.

    • nope, it just a switch in home app. And it's HomeKit/home app's problem, nothing eve can do about it

      • Thank you for the information. That means EVE plug will have the same as the Cygnett plug does. Home app can only provide the on and off function. If we want to see the watts we still need to jump to its own app.

    • yeah it's the other way round, you can do far more powerful automations in the eve app on homekit than home app itself.

  • Bare in mind these are the OLDER generation Eve products hence the discounts I suspect to get rid of them. They have newer versions with Thread. In fact Amazon even links to them lower down (but of course they’re not on special)

    • Door And Window Sensor is the new ver with thread

I have to say - this is an expensive but a VERY GOOD door sensor. A have been using a few over the last year and they were always reliable.

I love that they are on Thread and don't require a separate hub.

Don't buy the Bluetooth version of Eve Power though, it is outdated now.
