Received an email from optus with a code for 12 Months Equifax Protect Subscription. I am wondering if it is worth subscribing?

Only thing this is going to do is earn OPTUS COMMISION on the subscriptions from the people AFTER the 12 MONTHS expire

I received the code, but I'm unsure about using it given Equifax's recent history with data insecurity.

    This link https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11277703/Optus-hack…
Scott Pape doesn’t like Equifax, and in the linked article suggests an alternative called Credit Savvy (free) run by Comm Bank
(Using the UK daily mail link gets around a paywall on our local paper’s original article)

    • scott pape doesnt know about credit card churning tho, given he wants everyone to cut up their CC

    • Yes, read that, everyone has negative emotions for equifax but the poll here is otherwise.

  • Does signing up for this affect our rights under the numerous class actions suits against Optus?

I much prefer the government to sue on behalf of affected Optus customers, with most class actions suits the claimants rarely received anything more than chump change after the lawyers' huge fees.

Decided to do it via credit savvy instead.

  • I was going to sign up, until they asked for 100 point ID check including photos of my passport and drivers licence.

  • I'd love to get on this. Anyone happy to DM a code they're not going to use?
