    • But I only have 1 SD card slot.. can get 1TB for about $140

  • stack with this
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/729791

    getting cheaper and less

  • This good for a phone?

    • +2

Yes. Nintendo switch also in case anyone wants to ask.

      • Thanks, Noob question I know lol.

        • +2

We all going to learn somehow.

      • And Steamdeck hopefully

        • +1

I've been using the exact same card on a steam deck. Works perfectly, you'll hardly ever notice a delay in load time compared to the ssd.

          • @iresh-s: That's impressive, I'd suggest the internal memory is unusually slow if they're the same but I'm pretty happy with the load times there too

  • +1

finally. my modded 3DS and Switch say thank you!

    • +3

I think it's pointless putting a 512GB in a 3DS, it has a limit on the number of titles. I think even a 256 was overkill. Unless things have changed since I last looked

      • hmmm but there is retroarch homebrew ? and we can put like hundreds of SNES if we want ?

probably agree, will use for switch and something else.

        • Oh yeah, could be worth it if you want to use emulators. I've personally never bothered on the 3DS, there are much better handheld devices for that.

The Switch and Steam Deck will murder it for emulation :D

          • @chromium: Steam deck isn't in Australia though. Plus, whatever you have now is better than new device to play with.

            • @Wonderfool: There are Steam Decks in Australia :D

But yeah, I agree. Chilmot said they had a Switch, which is a much better emulation device than the 3DS

        • The entire SNES library would be a few GB.

      • There’s no limit with Luma3DS. But the library of games is barely going to fill up 256GB unless you want to store every single game no matter how bad it is. If so then you would be safe with this.

For emulation I recommend a Retroid Pocket 3 or an Odin Lite if you want to do most GameCube and some PS2. Anything below that like Dreamcast and PSX and PSP will run it up to 6x resolution depending on the game.

        • Is that a relatively recent development. I haven't messed with my 3DS for a while. I remember there was a 300 title limit. I think there were hacky workarounds like bank switching. So can you actually show them all in the system menu or do you need to use some sort of custom launcher?

Tempted to get one for my 3DS now :D

          • @chromium: Ah actually the 300 limit does still exist but you can use 3DSBank to extend it by another 300 games. I don't really see the need to have that many games on there. It's probably my favourite console of all time since I own 8 variations of it but my main one has about 250 on it and I'd say about 100GB of the games are top-tier must plays, I've never touched the rest of them :)

  • These any good for dash cams?

    • Yep, I am using an older Samsung EVO SD card and works well.

    • I tried using multiple Samsung EVO Plus in 128GB and 256GB capacities but it always eventually caused my blackvue dashcam to reboot randomly or corrupted the card itself beyond repair. Bought a Samsung PRO Endurance, and now it works flawlessly.

    • +1

For Dashcams, I've used Sandisk 'high endurance' microSD cards before ,
so I don't know if these Samsung microSD cards are are the "extreme" versions of them.

    • +3

If you are going to bother buying and setting up a dashcam no point in cheaping out on the sd card. Just buy a high endurance one and be done with it!

  • +1

Thanks OP, brilliant, got 2. Will be perfect for making backups while travelling rather than lugging around a portable HDD or SSD.

  • +7

Bought a SanDisk yesterday with a quarter the capacity and identical spec otherwise.

Might try and drown my feelings of regret by purchasing five of these. That’ll show me.

    • yeah thats why i have been holding on for so long - lots good deal on 128gb but then i have 3-4 of them and need a bigger one really
hopefully you bought them at cheap?
saw samsung for $34 at binglee ebay. im waiting for ebay to give me ebay plus monthly $5 voucher - lucky havent got it till today so just bought this instead

      • | hopefully you bought them at cheap?

Nope. Total spur of the moment decision at local Camera House. $99 for 128GB ;-( Yes, my inner OzB'er feels deeps shame.

        • ohgoz…

sorry to bring more bad news:
actually binglee samsung card deal for $34 is for 256!

  • Anyone know if it will work with DJI Mini 2 ?

    • well, why not working?

      • as it does not like/support some cards! (at least for the DJI Mini)

        • wow learn something new today

  • +1

    got 2 thanks!

  • Just bought a 256 for the switch and it's not big enough 😒 should I return and buy this instead

    • thats what i said! and again!

i have 128 now and sick of deleting game, almost bought 256 but then i thought well i will regret soon
and boom now 512 should be okay - but im sure one day i will want 1tb haha

  • Best ideal to buy 2 more savings Thanks

  • So bought the 512 + 256 GB ones and saw ChiMot's comment and cancelled and ordered 2X 512GB for only ~$10 difference.

    • It is the way

  • +1

    2x Thx op.

  • Are these good for Surface pro 7?

  • 2 for $55 each is pretty tempting, but I already have 4 x 512GB MicroSDs and can't think of use for any more.

    I wouldn't mind another 1TB though

    • +1

      Buy now think later

      • +1

The ozb matra. Buy now. Regret later.

        • Done that many times.

    • it's not just pretty tempting.. i think it's pretty much action-on pricing. 1 for $67 is tempting haha. Even if you'd only need 1 at $55 it'd be pretty easy to find someone else to take one off your hand.

    • but how much did you buy your 4x 512gb cards ? must be higher than this?
so buy more to make the av. cost down

      • Oh yeah way more than this, but haven't bought any in 1.5 years.

I got a 1TB one last week for my Steam Deck. Already have 2 Switches both with 512GB as well. If anything I'd rather get another 1TB for a Switch, then I'll have a spare 512GB :)

        • Not posting the steam deck deal?

          • @CyberMurning: Steam Deck deal?

The 1TB MicroSD deal was posted on here, but it's expired

  • +8

This would be perfect for my steamdeck

    IF I HAD ONE!

    • +2

Buy this now then get the steamdeck later.

    • You need 1TB for Steam Deck!

I got one in the digidirect deal last week. $157 for a Sandisk Extreme!

      • Ye I’m waiting on a decent sale for a 1tb, already have a 512gb sd card filled with games I don’t play on switch

        • Same here, but that didn't stop me :D

  • Don't need 2, anyone in Melbourne's east want to split and get 1 EA for $55?

    • +2

just buy first, worst case put on ebay for $65 incl shipping people will buy

    • Hey mate, I'm keen. Sent you a PM.

  • Oh. I just got 2 256 for the win max 2. Dang.

  • +2

Im glad there's still devices that take these because phones sure as @#$% aren't. I want phones with expandable storage back!

    • For real I'm still rocking the v30 and feel no need to upgrade. 1TB of linux iso's on my phone is all I need.

  • +2

    Browsing OzBargain is always dangerous.

  • Can I use this card for Insta 360 x3 , if anyone knows pls help me out .

    • Shouldn't be an issue

    • definitely YES

  • +1

I'm guessing this is the Amazon version compare to white Samsung version. Same guts different skin?

    • That's right. Evo Select is Amazon's exclusive branding from Samsung and is the same as the white Evo Plus under the skin.

  • +5

I feel like I’m just collecting MicroSD cards at this point.

  • Link goes to 64gb must be sold out

  • Any other 1TB deals anyone has seen ?

  • Anyone got an extra they want to palm off? Melb inner west
