You’d want to graduate and find a job that is readily available and pays well. But with the economy in such a poor state, who knows if you’ll find such a thing. Fortunately accountants are always in demand.

If you enrol in a vocationally focused accounting course, you will be trained and fully equipped to enter this secure and lucrative profession straight away. But what will really balance your ledgers is the ability to study for free!
NMIT’s special offer

For all of you who are eligible for a Government subsidised position, and if you enrolled in any University course for semester one 2012, there is a great offer available to you

Certificate IV in Bookkeeping
Certificate IV in Accounting
Diploma of Accounting
Advanced Diploma of Accounting

If you do enrol you will receive FREE TUITION for semester 2 2012. Yes, all tuition fees will be wiped off the bill for semester 2 2012. That’s savings in the thousands of dollars.

With or without the savings, a switch to a TAFE course is a great idea. NMIT’s courses offer a number of advantages, such as:

Fast-tracking – NMIT’s courses can fast track you out of the class room and into a paid job faster than a three year Bachelor
Flexible delivery – is available during the day and evening
Vocational focus – courses prepare you specifically for roles in the workplace, rather than accounting concepts, making you highly employable.
Class sizes – NMIT has a specific focus on limiting class sizes, giving you the best chance to get all the assistance you need
Teaching staff – NMIT’s teaching staff come here to teach, not to conduct research. This means you get their full attention.

So you can get a job sooner, study in smaller more focused classes and save heaps of money at the same time!

If you want to get started on a great career in accounting, the time to sign up is now

  • I don't think I can call this anything close to a bargain. It's also only available to such a small demographic.

Is this like one of those Diplomas I can get from the USA for $25? I was thinking of buying a title of Minister of the Church of OzBargain as well….

    • There is already a free Minister certificate available, to become a Unitarian Church minister, or was, a few years ago.

      Sign-up & print-out… free.

PS Find it & you can have the honor of Submitting it to OzB ;-)

Appreciate the hard work you put into this. Bravo!

I hate these institutions that Mooch off the government for all they can. I'm guessing this certificate is near on worthless in real life.

    • Dunno about that "worthless" claim…

Bookkeepers get paid, like everybody else.

Good bookkeepers keep organisations -out- of the "ATO dog-house" & being in there can cost 'em heaps to fix!

      • I got a diploma of accounting studying on campus at TAFE several years ago. Got mostly distinctions for the subjects. Never managed to get any bookkeeping work with it as all the employers wanted "experience".

Now I work at a servo while I slowly work towards getting a BSc.

        • A diploma is a nice step, but employers either find you over qualified ( rules you out of some traineeeships) or not experienced at diploma level

Expand to other jobs for which accounting knowledge is an advantage. I also went to TAFE, and now working in Finance. I think my accounting background helps the decision. Try get Finance jobs, or customer service related to finance/accounting, or back office jobs in financial services companies.

Edit: Sorry but I got to neg this because this is not a bargain but posted in OzBARGAIN. There are other providers offering free courses too out there. If all post here, then this becomes OzADVERTISING. You can't bargain lower than $0.

    useless website.

can't even find details about the actual courses.

First lecture. Teacher walks in and says "Welcome to the Diploma of Accounting course, OzBargainers. OP, to the board!" Imagine that.

  • Advertising? This is similar to those offering free courses in mX, not sure if the same provider.

I don't know what folks are COMPLAINING about Free Training or Educ here. After uni's & TAFE's starting hiking up fees, folks were COMPLAINING that the same pollies who made -that- happen had enjoyed tuition-free uni educations, that opened doors for them in later life.

If it's bona fide, go for it. :-)

So, the organisation gets paid to provide a service…
What kind of service do you think they'd provide if they -weren't- paid to provide it? :-/

PS If you sign-up and - later - find you're getting low quality training or education, just complain to the Training Ombudsman, & - if they agree - the RTO gets real headaches.

Keep 'em honest & of high quality… & maybe win a certificate, etc. from a [pre-election] gov't-paid course.

    • Thank you IVI. It is understandable that people will be suspicious of such rare generosity but this deal is 100% legit. Furthermore it isn't confined to just this Accounting deal as you can see here: http://universityblues.com.au/nmit-fee-free-in-2012-offer/

Considering our 100 years of experience, we can assure you of the quality of these courses. If you want to learn more about this deal, please call us today at 03 9269 8494

    Domain is not .edu.au.
    No thanks

the website look like cheap wordpress site and wondering whether it has been registered with Department of Education. it look just FAKE

      • <sarcasm>Maybe they need to do a web design course? I've heard Microsoft Frontpage is good.</sarcasm>

      • I can guarantee the website is real. Bear in mind that this site is promoting free positions in courses for which we would otherwise charge admittance. Considering the already generous nature of the deal, we are unlikely to invest heavily in ascetics.

For our main site which has received such attention please visit: http://www.nmit.edu.au/

        • Perhaps you can refer the skeptical among us to some independent sites or media releases or published media reports (in well-known newspapers), in which your offer is reported?

Perhaps a gov't or other sponsor has published a release on the grant that fund it all…?

That's what I think would convince people here that it's legit, despite the contra-indicators, which they've pointed to.

  • Not legit, wouldn't touch with a 40-foot pole.

  • And, to the skeptics here:

Perhaps you can look up the owners of the domain name(s) you suspect, to see if there are any suspicious indicators?

Dig a little deeper & see what evidence you can find for OzB.

Can anyone point to a current student, who has had some experience with this arrangement, good or bad, who can chime in here with a report? Faculty member? etc.
