Arlec Heavy Duty 30m Extension Lead $29 + Postage (Free with over $99 Order) @ Tool Kit Depot

210

Needed a few extra long cords to power the grow lights for my shed tomatoes. Seemed like a good price to me.

    $23 for 25m at Bunnings

    • How much for 30m at bunnings?

      • $23 for 25m and $8 for 5m.

  • Did it say on the packet what the diameter of the internal copper cable was? And btw what lights are you running?

Not interested in the cord, gimme more info about these black market tomatoes!

Just ordered online, haven't received yet. The price is much higher at mitre 10 but toolkit depot gave an option to collect from mitre 10 instead of pay for delivery. The "@mitre 10" in the title wasn't by me. I'm guessing 1.5mm² area for the conductors. 10A would be good for 2400W and I'm setting up 2x600W lights. A little bit of volt drop from 1.5mm² shouldn't matter to LEDs

    • I don't see the option to pickup at mitre 10?

    "tomatoes"

      It's a new strain.

    • Thanks, I was confused from the description till this comment.

    • It's time for the new Federal government to allow everybody to grow their own "tomatoes" just like the governments have in Canada, the ACT and the U.S

    My "shed tomatoes".

  • Skipped past this post earlier, as header originally said "Mitre 10"
No mitre 10 near me at all, so wasn't an even option.
There is a Bunnings owned TKD close by, so scrolling down it caught my eye, to open up the post for a read.

Mitre 10 is so much better than hammer barn and I don't think Mitre 10 spy on you either 👍

At least my local M10 has staff that know what they're talking about and are enthusiastic to help, they don't read the back of the box after 20 minutes trying to find them and motivate them to help.

I thought the point of difference that M10 staff were for trades was bollocks until I drove the extra 5 minutes and tried it for myself.

  • You forgot quotations for tomatoes…😉

  • Keen, but noticed this review on the Arlec 25m equivalent, the quality is abit of a concern
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/arlec-25m-10a-heavy-duty-extensi…

Edit: Heavy duty vs Extra Heavy duty, so might not be fully comparable

    • There has to be more to that story. Looks like the guy has put a nail/staple or similar through it. Black scorch mark around a hole looking at the pics. If the cord just failed internally i doubt it would look like that and i highly doubt you would happen to have your hand there at the time. How would you even get to the live wire via such a hole anyway other than with something metal?

      • Yeah good pick up! You could be right

  • "grow lights for my shed tomatoes"

    seems legit
