I saw a person engineer a hole in the front and use it as an emergency urinal on longer trips.

      Gross!

Completely unrelated question… are these watertight?

      • +1

        good q

      • +1

        😂 yes they are

      • lol would have made an interesting urinal if they weren't watertight

    • +1

      I feel the nee…

These are good for holding beer or wine on longer commutes.

    • If you fashion a hole in the top and use a long straw you could drink hands-free

      • +4

Less conspicuous than the beer can mount on my helmet.

  • to put a wallet?

OP, are you sure they are 4 litres volume? I'm thinking of how much volume 2x2litre milk containers are and this looks a fair bit smaller than that.

    • -1

I just did a copy paste, no idea

    • +1

      0.28m x 0.13m x 0.14m = 0.005096 meters cubed. 1 cubic meter is 1000 liters. So wouldn't that be about 5 L? although the photo doesn't look like that

      • Yeah, its not a perfect rectangle prism, so 5L - 1L = 4L

I've just had to get a refund from this company, from their ebay account. The bag is not the dimensions (2cm less each way) or the capacity they claim. It is barely more than 2 litres (think of a 2L milk bottle). It also has an emblem on the front that isn't advertised in any of the photos (in the ad I bought from. Seems they've updated or changed the pic).
If you want a case with a lil red panda on the front, that is barely more than 2L, that's cool, go for it. If you want an actual 4L capacity, find another seller.

    • I have updated the images, and re-measured the dimensions to confirm 4L volume size: 28cm x 13cm x 14cm

      How is the quality?

      • -3

It isn't 4 litres. It's barely more than 2 litres. Sit a milk carton beside it, you'll see.
As for quality, it hardly matters to me, since it's capacity makes it of zero use. I appreciate the refund, but I really don't appreciate the wasted time.
Hopefully you'll find plenty of people who are happy to use a 2L capacity bag. $15 is still a good deal, even for 2L. Best to you.

        • It isn't 4 litres. It's barely more than 2 litres. Sit a milk carton beside it, you'll see.

So 2 litres is only possible in one size? The dimensions are enough for 4L.

        • +2

To measure the capacity more accurately, you first need to open the bag and lay one half flat. Buy two 2L bottles of milk, unscrew the caps, and pour the milk into and fill the half of the bag that is lying flat. Don't worry, the bag is watertight according to Rep, so the milk shouldn't leak. After you filled that half of the bag, pour out and discard the milk contained within. Lay flat the other half of the bag and with the milk remaining in the bottles, repeat the procedure to continue the measurement.

Afterwards, measure the amount of milk which was left in the bottles. Subtract that amount from 4L and you have a pretty good measurement of the bag's true capacity. If there isn't any milk left, then the capacity of the bag will be greater than 4L. If you have a near-full bottle of milk left behind, then your estimate that the bag is barely more than 2L is correct, and the Rep has misrepresented the product.

            @alvian:

Don't worry, the bag is watertight according to Rep

Can confirm. My unbadged one had a beer spillage (VB sadly) and it held it in. Plus it's been through rainstorms no problem.

I'm tempted to try the milk challenge on it now.

          • +1

@alvian: Water displacement, in a larger container, with the case covered by a plastic bag, is another way to approximate the external space taken up by the case. Considering it's the external widest dimensions supplied by the seller that people are assuming means the item has a 4 litre capacity (which offer an incorrect cm³, as the item is not perfectly squared).
Another way to approximate the internal capacity, no milk required, is to pack the case to a reasonable tightness with packing fill/peanuts/beans. Then measure those using a Litre jug. Using this method, the item capacity is approximately 2.3 litres.
My ginger handlebar moustache & beret: to bed.

I paid $26 delivered for mine at the start of the year. Not exactly the same as this, but also 4L. It's enough room for my bike lock, wireless earphones, and lunch (usually in this)

  • Didn't realize Walksmart closed down. Are you guys selling any cheap scooters? 👀

    • +1

Unfortunately we've sold everything already (except these bags)

      • Aw damn. Thanks for the reply tho

  • any other reasonable use cases? i don't consider a urinal use case reasonable haha.

  • Looks good, cheers!

  • +2

If the bag is 4L as you claim, then why are the bags you have on your soon to be ex-website advertised as 2L?

    • Interesting find!

I re-measured the bag when creating this listing and can confirm the dimensions above and it is 4L

      • Why are you measuring the external dims.. just measure the approximate internal dims and be done with it.

  • Tempted… Might get stolen though.

    • +3

The urine will be a deterrent.

  • damn raised the price, was going to get one

  • This will damage the paint in long run. Make sure to cover the paint with a transparent tape where the bag is touching the handlebar.

  • You have 1000 to sell, eBay listing says 100 sold and you just jacked the price? If you were liquidating, wouldn't you continue to lower until they are gone?

    • Yes, but I would like to confirm 100pcs first, see if even worthwhile selling at this price due to fees, shipping etc… If I am above breakeven, then may continue selling at this price.
