Seagate Expansion 3TB USB 3.0 $143.20 @ DSE Toowoomba

150

Needed a 3TB external so went into DSE, they are having a closing down sale with 20% off the marked price, which was originally $179, got it for $143.20.

Not sure if this is the same as other DSE stores that are closing down but maybe worth a look.

At this price it is <$50/TB.

Please note that this is the DSE next to WOW and not the DSE in Grand Central.

EDIT: Just cracked it open because I plan on putting it into my computer as an internal drive and the model number is: ST3000DM001 which is a 7200rpm drive.

  • Could this be pricematched at JB/Officeworks?

    • yeah that would be a great bargain if they do pricematch !

    • I would be doubtful as this is a closing sale, the regular marked price was $179. Might need someone else's input on this sorry.
EDIT: It doesn't actually say 20% off on the receipt anywhere, so it might be worth a try…

      • how does this work, even msy 3tb drives arnt that cheap

Went to DSE yesterday at Doncaster…
Was look at getting a Power Adaptor with 2x Usb Charging Outlets.
Big W were selling exactly the same one for $16 (not on sale) and DSE had it for $29…

So 20% off a DSE 'original price' is not necessary a bargain

No one said that ALL DSE discounted prices were bargains.
      But this one definitely is.

  • not a closing down sales. this is a end of financial yr sales. the prices are in catalog for $149 and if officeworks should respects the pricematch

    • There are a multitude of signs outside the store which indicate it is closing down. Not ALL DSE's are closing down, but this one is.

  • Wow! ANTHER DSE bites the dust… Are they all going out of business, soon?!?

    • They're "streamlining operations". Stragenly enough I was in Westfield and saw the current DSE is moving to a much larger premises in the same complex which is opening soon. The current one is still open for business too.

I guess if they're consolidating so many stores it makes sense to open some larger ones.

Do you guys have any success with printing these receipts? As it isn't advertised as such

Wouldn't the manager just say that you "should buy it from there"

    • Office Works will not accept receipt scans. It has to be an 'advertised' price. An Australian online store shopping cart showing the price however is acceptable.

  • edit: never mind

  • No price match in dse karrinyup. Something bout profit :)
