Cheers I think I saw something on SFFPC about this. i'm tempted to cop just cause of the price but I know I'd be much more compelled to build in a T1

    • I bought the T1 (1.1 in gun metal grey) over the S1 due to superior GPU comparability (limited to 2 slot GPUs in the S1) and cooling.

  • +9

Is this because no GPUs this gen will fit in to such a case anymore?

    • +4

Nah - think the company is having a pretty rough time financially so they're trying to liquidate stock.

      • +7

Both answers are valid / not mutually exclusive.

      • … us sure they're not testing a lower price point, in case the $50 premium for the woke leather strap is slowing sales?

        • Not that it's not practical or neat, just a tad dinky.
    • That PCIe riser arrangement looks janky tbh.

If u were an itx builder you’d know these cases are premium. I rock a dan a4 custom

        • Clearly only an artisan ITX case builder would appreciate the beauty of non-spec, unattenuated wiring for high bandwidth data busses.

I wanted one years ago but they were always never in stock or never shipped here. Eventually just got the NR200. Like fufufu alluded to, it's time has come and gone.

    • Bro the nr200 is huge Compared to this I know I have both

      • -2

        Lucky you, want a medal?

    • Same. I wanted the Ghost for years, but ended up with a Streacom DA2 instead. No regrets!

  • Similar story here. Wanted one a couple of years ago something bad, but since moved on (Dan Case, then more recently SSUPD), so that ship has sailed. Good deal though for those that are looking for one.

  • +3

Bought it some months ago in Germany, or better said at Coolshop in Denmark?! Paid around $400.
For this price, it is a no-brainer. The build quality is on the same level with Apple devices. Thumbs up!

$287.07AUD as billed for me (including shipping).

Pulled the trigger, even though this maybe isn't the way cases are going. Always had a soft spot for this case, it's just so clean and beautiful.

If u build u won’t regret what a cool little computer u made

  • +1

    What gpus fit it tho

    • -2

      iGPUs

    • There are a few 2 slot cards from the previous generation (the PowerColor RX6800 Fighter for example) but yeah you're going to struggle with this.

    • +2

Gigabyte RTX 3070 Eagle is easy to get here and fits nicely in my Dan A4 SFX. The SFF PC Master List is great for narrowing down options.

  • +1

… by the way, do you have to pay any customs? (I am new here, sorry)

    • +1

Not if it's under $1000 generally

      • Oh, that's nice to know … :-) Thank you!

  • -1

Aren't there bunch of similar cases like this one on Aliexpress? Shipping may take a while but better pricing

    • +1

      Do you have an example?

      • Just type "ghost s1" and there will be lots of them. But yeah realize that the pricing there is higher than here, mainly because of shipping fee (case is usually 180~ish only).

    • +1

It also depends on what materials you prefer - Chinesium or Aluminum

    • Bullshit. Comparing a SsangYong with a Porsche.

      • porsche is not considered a reliable brand, at least here..

granted, neither is ssangyong, as they are almost unheard of here

      • Some ssangyongs have Mercedes engines.

  • This is a phenomenal deal. I bought one of these cases 2 years ago for $450. They were hard to get back then.

  • It was good a few years ago, that’s all I have to say

Optimum Tech has some good builds if you need direction/inspo. Airflow or Custom loop

I still think the SilverStone rvz02 is the best SFF case.
The vertical standing, tall and skinny shape, means it is maximised for surface area. That means more efficient cooling. The biggest heat generator is the dGPU, and situating it towards the top means hot air rises, doesn't choke other components. And putting the CPU and PSU opposite side, gives them the maximum separation of space.

The case itself is great quality, but nothing fancy. Which is awesome because it means it can be made affordably and sold affordably. Sitting it next to a PS5, it looks just like a Home Console. Then again my tastes are different to the usual crowd, who want big white boxes, clear windows, black internals, and a dizzying array of RGB lights.

My next project would be build a Powerful HTPC inside the shell of an old VCR Machine. I'm thinking of going with something exotic this time, gutting a laptop to access all that low-power stuff you can't achieve on a Mini iTX system.

    • have not seen this before. this actually saves more space on the desk sitting upright. when I looked at silverstone everyone was recommending the SG line. any others you've come across that are not so well known?

      • A more popular one is the FractalDesign Node 202.
It's a very similar layout but they designed to primarily use horizontally. It's a decent bit larger and the quality is about even. I find it doesn't blend in next to a TV as well, unless you put it below in the TV Unit/Shelving for it to blend in with the AV Receiver. But doing so greatly chokes airflow, so your components must not be pushed hard, or it will impact its lifespan (aka Red Ring of Death).

        • Yeh I think airflow was my main worry. I ended up going cougar qbx for my first one just coz it was relatively cheap and I had no idea how airflow would go.

    • Well for a 12l case but only allow mITX mobo + SFX/SFX-L psu is kinda meh for me. My standard for SFF is usually this:
      <10l: mITX mobo+ sfx psu

      10l, <15l: mATX mobo + sfx psu
      <20l, >15l:mATX mobo + atx psu

      • SFX-L units are brilliant, they cost a little extra but they're cooler and more silent.
Which specific cases (eg nCase M1) were you looking at for SFF?

    • +1

I definitely like the idea of using a VCR as a HTPC shell.

  • Tempting but my ship sailed too. Great price!

  • +3

so very tempting… buuut i think i'll go for the formd t1.

  • Ordered, thanks OP!

    is this ozluxury?

$300 for a just "soso" itx case( from google reviews)

    No wonder they got bankrupted

    • LMAO

    • +2

      is this ozluxury?

      Always has been

  • Damn missed the riser cable!

  • Not even my midrange GPU fits in this case, and it fits very nicely in to the NR200. It's a real shame, because i have always wanted one.

    • to be fair, the NR200 is more than double the volume

  • This honestly would've been more tempting if Nvidia bothered to release 30xx series FE cards here to make hunting for a sub-2.25 slot card more feasible.

    • We did get a very limited supply through Mwave, but ridiculous with the lottery system.

I know because I managed to get a 3080 FE

  • I thought this was Sold Out - but there's still Arctic White available.

  • I can still add Arctic White to cart

  • +2

I managed to grab an Ncase M1 before they were discontinued and I don’t think I’ll ever buy a new case, it honestly fits everything I need to run a solid build without compromise.

  • aaaaaaand it's gone

  • +2

All Ghost S1 colours are back in stock, riser cables allegedly restocking next week
