Surface pro 9 has been released, Surface 6 is 3 generations old. I can't see why not

    • about next year this time. I think.

  • The specs on ebay are wrong, it says Quad core when it is Dual core

    • GRRR that's eBays catalogue coping over information into our listings.

Why are all these refurb shops selling laptops with unofficially supported OS?

    • +7

By installing Windows 11 they prevent the customer from thinking about whether it will be supported on that machine.

That said, if you get 2 years usage out of the Surface tablet at this price point it's not bad value.

      • I would say if the processor is not in the list then please don't risk it.

        • +3

Fine to risk it as long as the buyer is aware of the small risk that they will end up on an unsupported platform.

I don't know why people are downvoting comments about these systems which are running an OS that is not officially supported. Comment you cowards!! I had the same thought when I first saw them and think it it useful discussion.

They should just leave it with windows 10

    • I have installed Windows 11 on machines as old as Sandy Bridge (2nd gen) as well as various AMD A4/A6 machines and it runs just as well/poorly as Windows 10 did and for the most part Windows 10 drivers will install on Windows 11 and function normally.

The issue isn't whether it will work today, the issue is what MS might change into the future and whether it might impact the performance, or even potentially bricking machines.

For people in the know, its a risk that they can take, and they can just install Windows 10 if 11 stuffs up in the future. But for the typical user?

They should have installed 10, and people can then choose to install 11 if they wanted to. Not the other way around.

This is pretty much scamming the tech illiterates.

        • Yeah then Iā€™d blow it away and install Linux.

  • Tempting. Would be a nice for ChromeOS flex. Thoughts?

Not on the certified device list. A few posts on reddit suggest issues with the touch screen.

      • I saw the Reddit ones but that was before official release. Would have been good otherwise.

  • If only these came with an SD card reader.

Ye, only micro sd, not full sized unfortunately

  • Upgrade ram?

    • No :(

      • That's sad

  • How would this compare with a S7 Samsung tablet?

I need a tablet so wondering if this could solve the use case instead

  • +1

    No pen :(

    • They're around $35 at CeX if you can find one. Comes with a 24 month warranty which is nice
