I think its because you're being a tad unrealistic in your expectations. A known brand wireless 7.1 headset for $50? Of course everyone would buy it.
But they are completely different products and price points.
i honestly didn't see the word "wired" when i clicked into the deal, I am just pointing out the fact that it is wired so that no one would buy it assuming its Wireless, its not about i want it or i don't want it. I might have expected too much on the price there for a second, however if you have been here long, there are lightning deal that is crazy cheap from time to time. so I honestly thought it was a wireless headset with a crazy price.

Caveat: I've never tried it but one but a friend who used it seemed to have difficulty with directional audio.
It uses DSP (digital signal processing) to achieve virtual 7.1.
A while back there used to be headphones with multiple drivers inside the earcup for ‘real’ surround sound, but they weren’t great either.
I find gaming I can't live without 7.1
Different headsets do it better than others.
Very helpful in FPS games to know when someone is coming up to your side or behind you.
It's a flat-out lie, there aren't 7 speakers and a subwoofer in the headset, but it still gives at least as decent a surround effect as normal stereo headphones do, and usually a bit better
Correct. The cable itself is physically incapable of transmitting more than stereo.

Thanks, picked some up this morning before it went OOS. My son is going to be very happy when they arrive. He is still a bit young to remember to charge his wireless headphones and often complains that his wireless ones don't work while they are charging. This price point/quality fits what he needs!
