OP Notes

  • I couldn't get it to work on a brower as Discord detects your credit card country origin (just like Spotify)
  • The easiest method will be subscribing on the Discord app via Apple Pay - it shouldn't take too long to get everything going and if you already have an Apple Turkey account, this should be a breeze and can be done within a min
  • For android users, consider using this thread - it might help?

Instructions (via iOS)

How to make a new Turkish Apple ID?

  1. Create a Turkish Apple ID using a new Apple ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com/account

  2. Follow the onscreen steps. In the mobile number section, use your Australian mobile number (Very important to use a valid Australian number or risk losing your ID). Choose the country as Turkey. Then follow through the rest to create your ID.

  3. Login into Apple ID on a browser. Go to this link to enter a Turkish address (you can get a random address here) to your Turkish Apple ID. Select payment method as "none" and save.

  4. Go to Settings on your iPhone/iPad > [Your Name] > Media and Purchases > Log out from your current ID and login with your Turkish Apple ID

Loading your Turkish Apple ID with Turkey (aka Türkiye for those OCD) Gift Cards

  1. Buy TL (₺) iTunes gift cards (Make sure you only buy Turkish ones, only comes in 25 TRY and 50 TRY denominations) from TurGame > Choose currency as TL/TRY See how and pay with a debit/credit card (use a card that has no international transaction fees to avoid the any extra costs). All transactions will have a certain "Payment Partner Fee" attached - at checkout, choose "Credit or debit card - PAYTR" for the lowest payment partner fee (it's very small)

  2. Redeem iTunes gift cards on your iPhone/iPad by going to App Store > Account (located at right top corner) > Redeem gift cards or code.

Downloading Discord

  1. Once signed in with your Turkish Apple ID, download Discord from the app store. If you already have Discord installed using your Australian Apple ID, skip this step and proceed to step 2

  2. Once downloaded, restart your device (this ensures the pricing shows up as TRY and not AUD)

Subscribing to Discord Nitro

  1. Boot up the app and sign up or sign in. Click on your profile picture, and head to Discord Nitro. You should be able to see Turkish Lira prices for either Nitro/Nitro Classic **monthly subscriptions.

  2. Choose your preferred subscription (Nitro or Nitro Classic) and click on it. You should see Turkish Lira prices for both monthly and annual plans. Proceed to subscribe, use touch/face ID to complete your transaction

  3. Once subscribed, that’s it! Enjoy your new subscription!

    Not really, Nitro Basic is a more stripped down offering than Classic but cheaper. Anyone who's on Classic will stay on it like before but it's not available to new subscribers. Just thought to point out this distinction :)

    I cancelled my Nitro this month and when I access the Nitro subscription in the iOS Discord app, both "Get Basic" and "Get Nitro" are greyed out for me. I get this message "Unfortuantely, you cannot manage this subscription within the iOS app.; Please go to the desktop app and manage your subscription via User Settings."

      I use discord on android mobile and checked on my ipad app (after ending my current monthly subscription), both show the same for me - unable to click to purchase Nitro although I can see the TRY currency. I decided to check on a different discord account with no Nitro and I can choose the option to choose Nitro classic or Nitro in TRY. So it's unavailable atm for those that just cancelled their subscription and will need to wait after the end date stated on the subscription page. Patience is key for this bargain 😅

It seems Telegram Premium pricing is based on the country of the phone number you registered your account with, meaning I'd have to find a way to get a mobile number from a country where it is cheaper than here.     Hi, got a $2 sim, made the appleID, got the itunes from eneba since the majority of comments having issues, applied TRY itunes cards, installed fresh discord, applied itunes credit as TRY, all went well, took about 1hr setup from setting up the sim to activating discord nitro.

    if i cancel the discord subscription on the iphone via the App Store, delete the app, reinstall app, sign into different discord account, can i resub again on the new discord account?, trying to see if i can have a 2nd discord account with nitro without all the phone#/appleID account setup

      Nah, you gotta make a new apple id, you cant use it twice.

      I tried this with one apple id with two discord accounts, and the apple id thinks you're subscribing twice, even if you cancel the subscription as you'll get an error. I ended up having useless apple credit until i just used it for 9 months of youtube premium :D

      Better safe than sorry to make a new apple id.

    The apple store method works. The only difference I had is when purchasing the Turkey Apple Gift Card, the trugame website does not accept my visa debit cc. So I googled "Turkey Apple Gift Card" and went to g2a.com to purchased 6 x 50,00 ones. It ended up around A$39.74 which more expensive than trugame but still saved me 2/3 for the annual compared with AU one. Thanks.

    turgame now have a pretty convoluted process for payment.

    First I need to verify my phone number (Aus) with turgame. This is required to get OTP later in the process
    I was paying with my Wise card and had to then get an SMS OTP from Wise and enter at checkout.
    Once I entered that, I was presented with a bunch of random transactions and was asked to recognize one which was on my Wise card. I successfully did that.
    Then next, I was asked to enter another OTP from PAYTR (chosen payment gateway). This will be sent on mobile number verified in first step.
    Once that was done, it went to a payment pending screen. It also said I might get a phone call from a number. This is for verification purposes. I did not receive a call, but in under 5 minutes the screen refreshed automatically and a Payment confirmation screen came up

    ah damnit, this worked a charm except i hadnt cancelled my subscription with my Aussie account first. So i setup my turkish account and managed to get 1 year for 360 TL (by doing that trick post subscription and changing the rate). However when i logged back into my Aussie appleID and cancelled by Discord subscription it now thinks that i have cancelled it.

    So i guess step 1 is to cancel any existing subscription and wait for it to end before doing this. Im guessing i wasted 360 TL having subscribed through my Turkish one, or i'll wait until the subscription ends and then login to my Turkish account?

        i tested with my alt discord account it works flawlessly.
        sadly i cant refund as i didnt pay via apple, i paid with paypal on desktop. just gonna have to wait for my main to expire (literally just subbed the day before….lol)

        also the price has gone up massively, it is 750TRY now for a year for nitro plus, almost 44$AUD
