The link to page with this deal is hard to locate.

S call a store if you have questions or don't believe the deal.

As with these deals you need to have been off Telstra network for 30 days plus

If you sign up to the 24 month Telstra 5G $69 a month mobile plan (unlimited calls and texts) with 100GB a month of data they will give you $1000 off a new Samsung 22, 22+ or 22 Ultra, flip, fold or Z

Check on JBHIFI website for trade in value but you can also stack the value of a mobile trade-in plus they are offering a $350 trade-in bonus

If you have an old IPhone 8 for instance sitting in your drawer in OK condition you could trade up to a brand new Samsung 22+ with 256GB memory with no handset costs (but you'll need a screen protector and case I guess)

The Pixel 7 Pro photo is misleading

You lost the vibe at "24 months"

    • Yeah. I'm just getting sick of bouncing between monthly sims - Vodafone to Lebara to Aldi to the next. With 3G being phased out many cheap mobile deals will be gone

  • Will you have to purchase and use the $1000 voucher the day you sign up?

    • Yes and the 1K voucher can only be on the phone purchase0

  • +1

    What is the exit fee

    • +2

Pro-rata. If you want to hear you will get the value by exiting early, no you will not. You will ended up paying more.

  • Question about trade up the phone. If you send the phone to them, and they say your phone is faulty, can you ask them to send back?

    • Yes, they give you the option to either take $0 or have the phone returned to you.

      • Thank

      • who pays for the cost to return it?

    • +2

Trade up value cannot be used under this promotion unfortunately.

      • Not what the sales rep at Preston Homestore (Vic) told me on Sunday when he signed me up).

He rried to get me the deal but A70 with cracked screen worth nothing.

        • +1

Different JB rep tells different stories I guess…

Sorry for giving the negative vote. I will check with more rep tomorrow before it expires.

          • @tyspower: I got Mao-punished for wasting money at HN!
Yep every JB store has another excuse!

  • Can you still sign up if you are already with Telstra and get them to swap the number over from the old service to the new one?

    • +1

I tried to do this about a year ago with another offer. Telstra could not figure out how to do it even after heaps of phone calls. Eventually they sent me a bill for cancelling the new serives (full termination fee) which I complained about and it had to be escalated to some techincal team. After about another 10 phone calls, they eventually said that I didn't have a services any more even though I did (I was calling them from my original number). I still use that number and I have not paid a bill in about 12 months so I just take it as a win!

    • I did it with my number.it's done over the chat. So I guess depend on the agent you chat with.

Don't forget ask for $20/month discount

    • No. If you are with Telstra currently you'd need to take a whole new mobile number.

    • Yes you can, as long as you're an out of contract customer (not locked in to a 12montn, 24month etc contact)

There are some promotions only offering new numbers. This isn't one of them.

  • New 2023 models release will lower the value of this battery troubled S22 model a lot. That's why Samsung's trying to get rid of all S22 superfast.

    • Many reputable online reviews of S22 say the S22 is a great phone.

The entry level S22 has a 3800 battery which is still fine unless you're gaming or live on twitter.

      22+ has 4500 battery and S22 Ultra has a 5K battery

I think the link is wrong. No mention of $1000 off.

Assuning the deal is legit, would you be eligible for this deal coming from Boost? Boost only costs me $200/year, but doesn't have roaming…and I wouldn't mind getting a new phone!

    • Telstra plan doesn't have roaming too

      • Boost doesn't support roaming at all. Telstra does, you just have to pay extra for it

    • No because Boost is Telstra network.

      • Yes, I know that Boost uses the Telstra network, but it is a different company to Telstra

Checked with staff. Can’t use trade in value nor trade in bonus.

    • They cant stop you from registering for the trade in online and giving the code at the checkout at the store

      • Would you still get the bonus then on top of the trade in value?

      • Worth trying. It would be a good deal if it can stack with 350 trade in bonus.

        • I called them and sounds like you can trade in but you don't get the $350 bonus, he said it doesn't stack with the $1000 towards the Samsung phone, it's one or the other.

          • @groook: The guy at JBHIFI Preston Home who did my deal did yes you can use the trade in boost on this deal.

            • @Itsagooddeal: You must've been lucky, the salesperson doesn't follow the guidelines for the promo nor care for consequences. Either way, as the customer, take the win when we can.

  • So the info on the original post is incorrect? Needs updating as is now misleading with this new info. Shame you can't get those bonuses on top or might've considered it.

    • Who said the original post is wrong. The guy who did my sign up on Sunday said if I had an older phone with a trade in value (A70 with cracked screen worth nothing LOL) i could had the trade in and the 350 to add to the discount.

      • That's brilliant. Previous comments are saying you can't use the bonuses etc.

        • +1

If my A70 with cracked screen even had a 50 value I could have had another 400. The guy tried to help me but A70 worth nothing. Was a good phone for 4 or 5 years but getting slower. I wanted 5G for work from home and the 100GB allows kid to go nuts on ipad when away from home (and i can watch netflix if within 5G when on holidays)

Pro tip. Choose a trade in device without cellular and you won't need to supply any serial numbers. Then say it is damaged and have them offer you or pennies for it. Claim the trade in bonus then contact trade up to cancel the trade and you just have to pay them the pennies as compensation.

Anyone tried to use the $1k for iPhone? thanks

    • It's only for Samsung S22 models and flip and fold

    • You can sign up for the plan, receive the $700 gift card and put it towards an iPhone.

  • Could the device purchase be delayed to get an iPhone instead? or any other device? Worth it if that is the case.

    • No it cannot. The deal is only for Samsung S22 and flip/fold phones.

    • You can sign up for the plan, receive the $700 gift card and put it towards an iPhone.

  • Huge FYI.

*If you are a Telstra customer, you can still get the deal. Either get a new number, or port your old, "out of contract" number.

*They don't stack offer with trade in

*You are exempt from CPI increases, and will never have Telstra force an unwanted price increase
    https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/sim-only-plans#

*You will only pay $69 and receive the 100GB, on the condition you don't sign another contract, or until a better offer presents itself 😁

*Some what custom phone number, the sales person is able to input the first 5 digits after 04. For example.
    04 ××××× 123 ( × = custom numbers, last three digits randomly generated)

I'm an out of contract Telstra customer paying $58 receive 40gb data per month per person with two numbers. I went in and bought the wife an s22 ultra 512gb, which received the $1000 off, applied for a new number, on a plan $69 for 24 Months.

Once the gentleman explained that we are exempt from CPI (price increase) and that the bonus data, which gives you 100GB is yours forever, I was sold. I said F—- this old number I want a new one, being romantic, our numbers are the same, up until the last 3 digits haha

Oh and I received the $700 gift card for signing up also which brought the phone down to a total of $449.

    • How do you get the $700 voucher?

  • Please let me know i have 300 trade in discount for jbhifi.

    • The salesperson presented his screen with he details for the promo, in bold print, they can't stack offers, ie. Trade up etc

  • Went to JB today.

Said I could definitely stack trade in voucher with $1,000 off.

FWIW, he also said, it would stack with the current general $200 off (I don't believe him).

Unfortunately, because I live in the 21st Century, my physical drivers licence was at home, and you need to take a selfie with it to get the trade in voucher.

The dude also said the $1,000 ends today.
