Saw this email.. but can’t even find this model on Amazon for reviews.
Obviously it’s a cheapie… but anyone have insights?

    • +1

No direct insights but looked at JB reviews: a few 1 and 2 star reviews mentioning inability to read licence plates and continuous recording (instead of motion detect) resulting in SD card filling up rapidly.

      • can any dashcam read license plates?

        • I think they mean resolution ability to read it yourself.

I’m sure some obscure ones can do it automatically too since it could be done even with a raspberry pi

      This unboxing/review video might help.

I am always nervous in running the cable behind the side of the windscreen etc. Is it actually easy and low risk to hide the cable there?

      • +1

Highly unlikely you'll trigger any side airbag just by politely tucking the cable behind the plastic cover.

Certainly no expert, but I've tucked a cable or two behind there without incident.

Just make sure you're not preventing the airbag from coming down as that is probably the bigger risk…. always above, never under the bag.

I always check Dashcamtalk for reviews.

Not the best of quality, but ok for the price, biggest issue is the format it captures video in. The file sizes are too large with little benefit, causing the card to filly up quickly. From what I recall reading about the Navman range awhile back.

But their email assured me that it was a totally unique code that could only be used once! :O

    • I received a same code.

  • this was ticket price $99 with frequent 20% off at $79 , before "inflation" hits rrp to $139 now

the 150 model was $129 with frequent sale at $99 , before "inflation" hits rrp to $169 now

would love the 830 dual cam $49 deal to come back , or the speedocam deal

Bought and picked up the dashcam today.
Tested it in the car. Works perfectly fine.
Put in a 128GB Samsung Evo card in it which I needed to format using the dashcam prior to recording.
Video quality is good after viewing them through Navman MiVue Manager (Windows application).
    At 1080p/30fs, a 3 min video is roughly 270MB.
For the price, I have no complaints.

  • The code doesn't appear to work for me. Anyone received another code to try?

  • Bought it plus a micro SD card to push total over $100 in order to trigger the Amex JB $15 statement credit offer.
