Apple MacBook Air - Wait for Black Friday?

Hello everyone,

I picked up some gift cards from Woolworths today given the existing EDR offer.

Planning on buying an M1 model through the AOC site.

I’ve had a look online, but I can’t find any reference to sales that Apple ran specially for Black Friday through their own website this time last year…

Can anybody remember anything of note that is worth waiting for? If not, then I’ll just make the purchase now :)

Cheers.

Pretty sure Apple doesn't do "sales". They tend to bundle in gift cards or AirPods or something with their "deals".

This, Apple discounts are hard to come by if not nonexsistent in Australia. At best retailers match education prices. Apple themselves will bundle a free airpod during Black Friday and Back to Uni

      • Presumably on the AOC store, that type of bundle wouldn’t apply?

        • I think it does, I got free airpods last year during back to uni sales. Bought my macbook at the education price as well.

@RobBoss: Thanks Rob. I will wait it out in that event!

      • I'm happy to be proved wrong, but I don't think they bundle free AirPods during Black Friday, only the back to school sale in January.

        • now you mention it, youre right. they give gift cards on BF

@RobBoss: Gift cards could still work. Better than nothing!

  • Most major it retaillers do 10% off at various times on mac hardware.
    Not sure about Big W.

  • Go to youtube
watch Louis Rossmann repair group. Skip his Psycho sessions but remember if it dies it will cost!
if you still want to be flash, use their ed store, at least if you have an issue you have best chances to be looked after.

  • Currently having a dilemma…Been using M1 Air for 6 months (from 2018/9 MBP)
Now I felt Air is not as powerful, but definitely better productivity in general from the magic keyboard and much quieter from the M1 chip
Thinking to upgrade again but dont like the touch bar in MBP
if I go for 14" MBP it will be $3k before any discount……

Regardless, going to buy some GCs at woolies!

  • Do you need to have a university email address to buy from AOC site? If not will they randomly cancel your order?

No.. it says you can be a “ Available to current and newly accepted university students, parents buying for university students, and teachers and staff at all levels.*”

I’m a “parent” buying for my kid
