  • How do I apply this code to existing account?

    • +2

Go to My Account, then Account Status - there's a Claim Voucher button

      • Thanks mate.

      • Hi there, I tried the same way, but it says "Voucher provided is invalid"
        Does it already expire?
        Thanks!

This code is to assist those in Iran. I made an error in judgement when I posted it last time and wasn’t able to have the post removed.

Thanks for the information dealbot. I think the OP should at least cite this.

      • +13

It also contains some useful information, as per the blog post:

If you are located outside of Iran, we humbly request that you don’t use the code (you probably still will, but it is worth an ask); instead, spread it to anyone you know in Iran. This code is not permanent, and the extra free data will be removed from the account in the future.

Seems kind of pointless if true. Fortunately, as a Belarusian, (in spirit) my account still gets bonus data. Of course that's not as good as previous promos that didn't have a cause attached to them, but good enough.

You can always just do a "one off" free trial as long as you haven't done one before, and get free unlimited access for a day.

  • Thank you very much c:

      And?

Why would you want to degrade your internet experience using a VPN outside of Australia?

        • +4

Many reasons. You not knowing other possible uses isn’t a valid reason to neg a deal.

          • -5

@PainToad: I can give you a larger wheelbarrow full of cow diarrhea, doesn't mean it's any good.

            • +1

@Viospeed: would be good in my compost for veggies!

            • +2

@Viospeed: You not understanding why this is good value doesn’t make it not good value.

For example, I recently used a free Windscribe account to access Turkey NBA League Pass pricing. Saved me over $100 and the VPN didn’t cost a cent.

              • -1

@PainToad: You don't get what I'm saying, they've offered 5GB free forever. 30GB or even 50GB plans are pointless if they aren't AU servers.

                • @Viospeed: Fair point. For what I use it for I’d only need a gig a month at most. For other VPN usage I use another provider.

                • @Viospeed: They have 11 Aussie servers on a paid account, costs $2USD/month.

                • @Viospeed: We do get what you're saying, but what you are saying is silly.

        • +1

          There's hundreds of reasons.

Do you wonder around life just not understanding 95% of what people do because you can't imagine anyone doing anything different to what you do?

Like, how is this possible? How can you not think of a single reason someone might need/want larger volume of data usage on an international VPN connection?

        • May be op is outside and want to access Australia only site

  • How does this compare to Mullvad?

If a product is free, you're the product.

      • Are u the guy from V for vendetta?

Windscribe will inevitably be slower and have less available servers, plus there's the 30GB data cap. And as @thatsnasty said, think about what incentive they might have to offer you free server bandwidth.

For the few euros a month Mullvad is (+ the 20% $XMR discount), I've been a happy customer for a few years now.

It's more then a few euros, they never have deals or discount but they are solid.

Is this ongoing 30gb like for life time or for one year?

    • The blog post mentioned above states it is not permanent and will likely be removed in the future, but should be good for a while given the Iran situation.

Do you have access to india for free account holders

    • How does it work through india mate???

      • Indian Youtube Premium is way cheaper than Aussie

    • +2

I just tested it, nope, can't access India

I love my Windscribe. I got a lifetime deal years ago, and use it as “always on” on my laptop browser.

    • +1

      You lucky bastard

    • What's always on mean?

      • +1

It turns on when my browser is open. Automatically connects and stays on.

    • I tried it out and didn't like the app in the tray with a little tick to say it's connected.

    • Yes and I prefer the interface over Cyberghost. Windscribes on boot and wont connect without it setting is so easy.

  • God haven’t heard this name in ages, I might have used it once like 10 years ago …

  • This is useless for Iran. They know that since last time and it'a just a promotion.

    • +1

      Why useless to thems

      • They shut off the entire internet, mobile and fixed. So a VPN is 100% useless.

        • maybe they shut off electricity power too

  • Thanks OP. Was thinking of getting VPN but didn't know which one to go for. I guess this is a start

  • Thank you. I have been unable to log on to my UK water account and pay the bill due to increased security on their side due to a recent ransomware attack. Accessing the website (Cambridge Water) from here (Australia) comes up with Error 500 from their owners South Staffs Water.

I still can't log in to the account but I can now pay the bill.

  • Does Windscribe fool Netflix USA or do they still block you?
