M6 and M8 in different lengths. Not that useful tbh

M6 and M8 in different lengths.

Definitely. They were designed that way.
      Very different performance characteristics.

There is a good comparison here…

I'm an idiot. I was watching that video going "Are the bolts going to snap off or something?"
After a few minutes I realised M6/M8 are the car models.

        Ya got me jv :p

      Not that useful tbh

Agreed, it's 480 pieces but in just two sizes. It's useless when you need an M4 or an M5 or anything else that isn't 6 or 8 !

      • Yeah im in the opposite bracket, Ive got a lot of smaller sizes but nothing this size lol.

        Good value for me anyway!

  • Is Syneco a good brand?

    • It's one of Bunnings cheap lines.

A month back at the hoppers crossing store they had these marked down to $10 but scanned in at $5. Was only a couple left, so maybe why they were further marked down. Worth a shot at low stock stores.

  • This deal is nuts!

I bought one of these at full price a couple of years ago "just to have" around the house. Good price this one for some basic fix-it supplies.

  • Few weeks back these were $2.50 at my local. Grabbed 4 sets and hope to use them all eventually.

  • +2

the case alone would be worth that!

    • Nah its not, threw mine out. The weight of the original contents breaks the dividers

  • +5

Worth it just for the washers…….which are always handy to have a round.

  • +2

    around….a round

ok it took LS for you to get the joke.

  • Applications are limited. Nothing in the weather since they're not galvanized or stainless. But hey if you need a whole bunch of M8 or M6 for an internal job, or a plastic case, go for it.

  • Is there washer for car oil pan bolt?

    • +1

You don't want to use these for a car sump.

      Google 'crush washer'

      Thank me later.

      • I hate crush washers. Although I have reused them, they feel like they're not going seal multiple times. Plain copper is better.

        • You replace them every oil change. They cost bugger all.

          • @Muzeeb: Yeah, I know, I know… but first no store ever has the correct size. I had to buy those awful fibre ones instead, to fit an 80s Camry was the closest, then use a round file to widen the hole enough to fit. It only lasted two oil changes (started dripping). So I ordered a whole packet of OEM copper ones from a parts store in the USA. Next time I was under the car, oil change was done, ready to screw the sump plug back in… I couldn't find them. So I just reused the copper one like I did at least 20 times on the previous car lol.

    • Search ebay for "Oil Drain Sump Plug Washers".
Find what suits your car, replace each oil change.

    Reviewer says

The nuts have been designed and manufactured with an internal screw thread that corresponds exactly to the external screw thread on the bolts

    Handy that!

    • If they didn't I would be pretty pissed. In fact, I would say that's reason enough for a refund.

  • Can anyone recommend a kit that uses stainless steel (and possibly a couple of additional sizes)?
