  • Does it has gps n 3g?

    • NO 3G Only WIFI. Yes there is GPS

      • But if no 3g, what's the meaning of GPS? U cannot always catch up WIFI hot spots~

        • You can still use GPS to know where you are but can't be exact without 3G

but can't be exact without 3G

          really ???

you might want to pass that on to TomTom, Garmin, Navman…

        • I was talking about when you have to find out where you are outside using the maps app without having any offline maps downloaded.

You can of course use those dedicated navigation apps for Playbook, if they are available. I am not sure because I do not own one.

      • I'd be very surprised if there is a GPS. Phones and Tablets usually have the GPS on the 3G chip. This is why most wifi only (eg iPad) tablets do not have GPS. But note, they can usually use the GPS data from a phone when wifi tethered.

        • wow, what a trip. I didn't realise this.

        • Nevermind me

        • Android tablets have GPS as well..

RIM, the company that took management lessons from Nokia

    • …and failed! :o

  • I clicked through from the G27 deal and saw this… wondered why it hadn't been posted yet…

    3 Year Warranty

doubt they'll be in business that long…

  • good deal for a 64gb playbook.. but i would have preferred the 16gb playboook

    • Costco still has the 16Gb available for $199.97 - I picked one up from Costco Sydney on Sunday. This time it came bundled with a silicon sleeve and a rapid charger (the previous one I got from Costco Canberra came bundled with a leather folio case).

It's certainly a great price for the 64Gb model though.

  • Not bad not bad at all. Too bad RIM is going to die.

Was going to say.. great deal! Then I looked at who was selling it and it was COTD. Meh.

They probably have 2 units to sell.

    These tablets ain't half bad.
I got one for free when they gave them away when you wrote an app.
Have to say its handy to be able to take this with you almost anywhere because of the size.
    Love
-it can be setup as a network drive to easily put files on
    -flash browser
-decent quality screen and awesome speakers

    Hate
    -tiny power button
    -Lack of apps

btw disclaimer - no way working for blackberry or anything. just my 2c

I got one for free when they gave them away when you wrote an app.

Wish I'd known about that, I'd have sent in a little beauty I've been working on for years called 'Hello World' :)

      • I got one of those too. Didn't know such an app was in such high demand from so many people.

        • My app was pretty much that….
actually it was a calculator disguised as HELLO world.
It went pretty well with my free lumia 800 from more app writing :)

had to learn coding from scratch :)

  • .

  • what could you use it for with few apps? surf the net & e-reader?

    • +3

Paper weight, door stopper, coaster etc. Endless possibilities

    • Well it does have the most important apps.
angry birds, simcity, plants vs zombies, deadspace….
treat it as a touch gaming tablet that had a decent music player :)

    Smaller sized models via Whirlpool:

    http://www.mobilenetwork.com.au/selector.asp?type=Tablets

    16gb $149
    32gb $199

    • Looks like there's $15 shipping on top unless you're an account holder, but still some great pricing.

    • is it reliable company?

      • someone from the Whirlpool BBM group brought from them and is loving the PB.

Man they would double in price if the bootloader wasn't locked…sniff sniff does anyone smell fire SALE??

That pricing is not far from an HP TouchPad yet people still aren't biting LOL!

      • quick google shows they really locked down the bootloader so unless someone cracks that you won't be putting ICS on it

    • Except for this tablet, the mobiles and tablets are dear on that website.

  • They're still trying to sell these?

By the way, for those comparing them to TouchPads - Blackberries are only 7" screens.
