      • you can pick up from our showroom if you are in the area we are located in Sunshine West, the mirra1 fit in a car.

  • Can the base be removed from these so they'll fit in my car?

    • +1

The base can be removed from any chair. It's just a gravity/friction fit.
Might be hard to take apart without multiple people and a hammer though.

    • +3

Oh… I was thinking u wanted to replace your car seat with this 🤣🤣

    • +1

There is no need to pull the seat apart, it will fit in the front seat on most sedans.

  • +1

how old are approx these chairs?

    • probably 10+ years is my guess.. only reason I'm not in.
      I've had a Mirra 2 over 5 years.

Wish someone would sell preowned HM or Steelcase chairs in Perth, when they show up on gumtree/marketplace they aren't much cheaper than RRP.

    • Yeah, its hard to figure out where stock goes in Perth. McLernons seems the most likely place but you'd have to put in some effort.

  • +2

I'm sitting on a Mirra 1 right now.

Main thing to be aware of with these chairs is that you can't sit down on it from either side as the seat edges are curved and the side hinges stick out.

Your bum has to be directly above the chair itself when seating yourself.

I know it sounds obvious but you'll know if you get one.

    • That means you gotta get it right the first time you land or otherwise you risk hurting a body part.

I just picked up one of these from the store in Sunshine. Looks like there were a few other OzBargainers there snooping around.

They have a lot of stock — both on the floor and out the back. There are some Mirras there from $150 and up. I got one for $199 that had minor scuff marks on the top.

    • Did they have any HM with arms? If so how much?
Not sure how I'd go without the arms

    • +1

How old do the chairs look? Are they new-ish?

      • They're not new — each one had barcodes underneath that indicated they were made in 2004 to 2009 — but they are in fairly good condition. They've been cleaned already and there are no stains on the mesh, etc. Some have minor cosmetic marks from being scraped on the corner of desks.

  • Anyone else hate these chairs? You just don't feel stable if you're wide and over 100kg.

Eames aluminium type chairs all day, everyday. Nothing comfier imo.

I've never seen these deals in Sydney.

What shop should we pay attention to as sydney folks? I really want to get rid of my markus in the next year or so, and opt for something more flexible

    • +1

Came here to post this! Any second hand furniture stores in Sydney, especially around the North West?

  • Anyone know if this can fit in a BMW X1?

    • I've managed to fit one into a BMW 330i (F30).

I feel like it should be easy for any SUV as you can just put the rear seats down.

  • +1

Sweet, might come check it out, I used to work at NAB and the Mirra chairs was the best I ever sat on.
I don't know when it got rolled out but I remember when the whole office replaced them, would've been about 3.5 years ago.

  • So unfortunate about their opening hours

    • were open Saturdays also 52 North View Drive, Sunshine West Vic 3020 - Mon-Fri: 7:30am - 4pm, Sat: 10am - 3pm

  • unfortunately no delivery to WA.
slow delivery with Aramex is okay for me. :-)

  • Why do they all not have arms? Do you sell them separately OP?

    • +3

Putin said he wanted arms, so he got a whole shipload of chair arms. SOF now on UN blacklist for arms dealing.

  • +1

Mirra are great, these do have various levels of noticeable wear on them, hence the price - good value if you find the right chair for you

  • -2

this place is over an hour away is there others closer to dandenong that sell these or chairs like this?

  • +2

Would get one if it was easy to get arms, but a quick googling has found it to be very hard / very expensive.

  • i'm curious if the wear and tear are very noticeable on many of them. If they are very minor, I might go and get them although it's quite far from my place.

    • its best if you can make it in store to inspect as each chair is different. We do have some reduced to $199 as there meshing is abit more worn out.

      • Thanks. I hope there are enough chairs in great condition if I get there tmr.

  • +3

I was there before and got a chair. Some didnt pass the sniff test, some i would not have sat on.

But most of them were ok. Need to give it a deep clean when you get it home

    • I try to sniff only a handful every few minutes because after that your nose can become immune to the smell. They had 495 and I think I went through 50 sniffs to find 3 chairs.

  • I bought one at $275 and one at $199 yesterday morning. The sales associate said there were about a hundred left then. Very happy with this deal.

    • hows the chair its to far for me to go

  • +1

Got one today, there are probably about 30-40 left at the $200 and $275 prices in the showroom. Not sure if they have any out the back.

Some of the $200 ones look really worn and dirty, I wouldn't touch them. Many of the $275 ones in the showroom are in decent nick, but they are worn - very much in "fair" condition. I imagine the best ones have been sold by now and it's into stage of finding the best of the rest.

There were a lot a people there looking for them.

    • well hows the chair is the seating good?

  • would these chairs fit in a hatchback?

    • I put mine upside down on the passenger seat of my Mazda 3.

      • so the wheels were towards the roof?

  • If anyone is interested we have reduced our last Batch of Chairs to $200 each.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS THE LAST OF THE BUNCH THERE IS WEAR AND TEAR ON MESHING ON- hence reduced to $200.

  • Just leaving this place now. Most of the chairs left are $199/200. There are a handful of $500+ ones and only one with arms ($650)

They had more come in whilst I was there, but all at the lower $199/200 price range
