The Good Guys iPhone 14 Pro Max 512GB Order - No Stock for Almost 8 Weeks

Hi Guys,

Looking to get some advice on my situation as i shot myself in the foot when buying TGG Giftcard on Shopback just to save $72.

Bought Iphone 14 Promax 512gb on 14th of Sept as click & collect from a local store Tempe. I called up every week and they said they don't have stock in any of the colour national wise and do not have an ETA. My friends who bought from JB Hifi and Apple store already received their phones long before me.

The thing is, whenever i call Customer service online, they always confirm i will be able to collect the phone in couple of days at the store, but when i call the store they said they don't have anything. They offered Refund back to my Gift Card, the only reason i bought TGG GC is to buy the phone and do not ever want to buy any other electronics from TGG as they often sell overprice.

I tried to contact Shopback to get my refund back to my credit card when TGG refunds but seems like it's so hard to contact Shopback. The last email i got from them was a week ago and i followed up every other day but seems they are not replying.

What should i do in this instance as i am quite fed up with TGG customer service as well as the Shopbacks. I am going overseas in a month and i dont think TGG will have the phone by then. and do not want to hold TGG GC at all. any Shopbacks Reps in here can sort this things out?

    Can they transfer from a different store to your local? Did you ask about delivery option?

    I tried to contact Shopback to get my refund back to my credit card when TGG refunds but seems like it's so hard to contact Shopback.

    This is not going to happen just because there is no stock for the item you want to buy. There are risks associated with buying gift cards, and this is one example.

    You could always take the L and try and sell the gift card at a loss. Lesson learnt: don't try and save a couple bucks by buying discounted gift cards when it's a high-demand item with stock availability issues.

      yea i did not expect this at all. Not worth saving some $$ to get all the bad customer services both TGG and SB.

        Customer service aside it was silly to lock yourself down to one retailer for a recently launched iPhone.

        Just putting it out there that SB is not liable to refund.
        You can PM @gotyourback - the SB rep to see if they can help out, but try to be civil about it.

    Why are you fed up with TGG or Shopback's customer service?

    Shopback obviously has nothing to do with this - you bought TGG gift cards from them, not an iPhone. You are welcome to use your TGG gift cards for something else.

    TGG has no stock and I presume, are able to refund you to your original method of payment, which is the gift card. Again, you are welcome to use your TGG gift cards for something else.

    Well its not exactly like they appreciate in value, if anything waiting a little bit will result in more price reductions.

    How has shopback given you poor customer service? They sold you a discounted gift card, there is nothing wrong with it, and you have redeemed it. You made the choice to buy a phone via a gift card, via a third party.

      you got the point. What i meant is, they dont respond in time, their wording is generic and there is no way to contact them unless via email

        i'm not a fan of ShopBack, however your criticism of them in this is wrong, they fulfilled their end, they cant force TGG to hurry up on a OOS item, just relax a bit

        They have nothing to contact you about. You purchased a gift card from them. They delivered it, and it obviously worked. Nothing more for them to do.

      i paid for the phone, and have been waiting for almost 8 weeks. If i purchased from other retailers whichi would have got the phone, also, i am going to overseas soon that's why i am seeking for advice. If you can not help to give an advice and add value, maybe not to comment?

        Maybe take some personal responsibility? You did things in a convoluted way, now it's difficult. If you truly have to have the phone, then go buy it elsewhere. When it gets delivered from the good guys, sell it brand new in box.
