  • 5700x is cheaper on SE (edited)

    IMHO this is a good option for a budget home lab/server build. You are still getting 2 more cores over a 5600 but also get built-in graphics and a free cooler compared to a 5700X which is only about 10% faster in most CPU intensive workloads.

      Yes but it's 80% more expensive than a 5600G lol

        Yeah, if you are going to go for an iGPU then the 5600G has a much better cost to performance ratio.

        The 5700G is only about 10% better performance than 5600G, but still costs twice as much (when both are at their lowest prices).

        P.S. If you grab a decent CPU Cooler then you can even overclock your 5600G to acheive 8-12% performance improvement.

          The Radeon graphics on the 5700 is stronger though, Vega 8 vs Vega 7.

          • @PhilsComputerLab: Hey Phils,

            Not sure where you're getting Vega8 vs Vega 7 from?
            AMD website just says "Radeon™ Graphics" which is their typical vague terminology.

            Do you mean number of graphics cores?
            i.e. AMD website states 5600G has 7, 5700G has 8, roughly a 14% increase in number of cores.

            But only a 7.4% improvement to GPU performance according to this benchmarking source:

              @Noob Noob: Yup that's what Vega 8 and Vega 7 means. That's a smaller improvement than I thought…

    • It comes to $308.90 delivered to VIC, which is now the exact same price as Amazon.

  • Now $293.34.
