My old gear s3 looks almost as good as day one. Not sure what you mean. I bang it against things all day at my manual labour job aswell

@kungfuman: You know the Galaxy Watch can be had in "titanum" too, right?

              • @kungfuman: If you are buying a Heuer, you don't buy the connect trash, just plain foolish.

              • +2

@kungfuman: All this while you keep going on about "higher quality materials" like Gold, Sapphire.

The purpose of a watch is to tell the time. The purpose of a smart watch is among other things, to tell the time.

Your gold plated or solid gold watch with sapphires doesnt make it do its job any "better" than a Casio.

If you're just looking to show off that you have money and happily spend that on something you could lose your hand over, thats your choice. Louis Vuitton also make a $3400 USD smartwatch.

        Samsung made in Korea.
        Apple made in China.

        • -7

great observation, doesnt' change the fact one is make with higher quality materials than the other. Tag Heuer is made in switzerland there is another observation.

          • +5

@kungfuman: Tag Heuer Connected comes in a "cheap crap" stainless steel case option, and is made in China..

          • +1

@kungfuman: Pffffttt. Tag are cheap. Patek Philippe is better.

      • +5

Oh yeah Apple, the amazing high quality brand that made the bendable phone!

If you wanna jerk off about your 3k watch and Apple superiority go to an Apple forum. Don't discredit anyone who wants to buy a cheaper watch. (profanity).

        • -7

Tag Heuer isn't Apple for one, I am talking about good quality watches with high quality materials I don't care about APple sepecfically but compared to this Samsung watch, you comparing ford force to a bentley. If you can't understand what I am talking about then I would assume you need to listen more.

          • +4

@kungfuman: "I have a Apple watch Ultra." You bringing this up implies you care about it a great deal. Nobody here is saying Samsung are (profanity) Rolex or anything else. But you seem to wanna shit on anyone buying this cause this watch ainnt made of (profanity) sapphire? (profanity) outta here.

Also nobody said your Tag was Apple. Just that if you wanna brag about expensive shit like that, might as well be with apple fanboys who enjoy paying a few extra grand for a logo.

          • +2

@kungfuman: Lol , Tag is not Bentley. More a Lexus

          • +1

@kungfuman: Yeah I can see how Tag is rated so highly 😂

    • In the same boat but I will hold ..

      • +3

yeah same here. reckon i can hold off since it seems price has been lower than this during prime day this year

  • +1

    HODOR

  • All these people wondering if it's cheaper, you can buy and return if it's cheaper, no?

  • +1

    Very average battery life.

    • Yep. And heart rate monitor quite inaccurate in my experience

      • apple wate more accurate? I mainly buy this for health monitor

        • +2

Yes, Apple has the best heart rate tracking according to scientific review on YouTube.

        • Honestly optical ones are far from accurate. If you need it for exercising, the chest straps are far better

          • @krisspy: The scientific reviews show the Apple watch as accurate as the chest strap (within a minor margin of difference)

  • When was it $179.6? :o

My Huawei watch GT has 1 week battery and does most of the important things this Samsung watch does, not sure why Samsung can't make the battery last a week too.

    • Exactly my thoughts

      • +1

Non-smart watches like GT2 don’t use much battery life. They also don’t track your fitness reliably. I owned the GT2, it was only reliable for time and weather.

Samsung have halted this update, so shouldn't be an issue for new buyers. I've had mine for over a year and have always updated, no issues. I tend to get updates a while after people in the US so maybe was lucky there.

    • +1

Thanks mate! never heard of the issue and confirmed my W4 classic has already been updated to the fw version. I hate what Samsung is doing with the watch esp removing the physical rotating bezel from Watch 5 series.

    • Thanks for sharing that, still bought one but good to be aware.

    • As Awesomeo said latest update on my watch ends in GVH1 with no new updates available…..

  • Ozbargained already…

    • yep even thu alot are holding it goes quick.

  • Damm this sold quickly.

    • there wasn't many to begin with.. When it first got published it was already 5-6 left

      • With 800 clicks and how popular amazon is of click now, pay later id to assume within minutes you'd have tens of orders. Plus I checked when I published it as I don't like to publish low stock items and it didn't have the 5-6 left even 30mins into the deal and it ran out 50min into the deal.

        • +1

ah my apologies. It is popular so maybe by the time I login it was selling out already.

  • +3
    • Thanks! Used my $150 pixel 7 pro voucher from harvey for this. Got it for $100.

  • Love my galaxy watch

  • So I did some research on these recently and I think I would pass on it even at $180.

The problem is wearOS which apparently is a glitchy mess and you can find yourself with severe battery drain after a bad update. No watch can escape this mess and even expensive flagship models running wearOS have their own issues. Even Google's Pixel watch with the most updated wearOS has an issue where the digital crown stops working. It is meant to work only in supported Apps, but the watch seems to get this wrong often and the digital crown stops working even in Google's own default watch apps.

On top of that Samsung is quite known for not cooperating when it comes to after sales support. This is kind of fixed by buying from Amazon but if you buy from another store you can be in for a real headache if you have any issues.

If you want a reliable experience and decent battery life avoid Apple watch and wearOS.
Go with something from Garmin with their own OS. Yeah you might lose out on some fancy Apps but most of that is novelty stuff that wears off anyway.
