    Nah. Nothing special.

    • This seems like a pretty good price, good reviews with VRR and 120Hz, why "nothing special"? Just the price not being particularly low for this model?

  • I'm waiting on the LG C2 42' for this Black Friday and hoping that it could be around $1500 (probably not). I want to use it as monitor but still hesitant considering the popular OLED burn-in issue. Any thoughts? Maybe Samsung QN90B QLED would be a better (cheaper) alternative.

OLED burn in is pretty overblown, especially these days with modern panels. Buy one and enjoy it for many years to come.

Just know that using a TV as a monitor comes with a few quirks, namely:

      • Different auto sleep / wake behaviour to what you're used to (though this can be mitigated with something like LGTV Companion)
      • No DisplayPort ports, which means you won't be able to get 4K 120Hz on devices without HDMI 2.1, which is far less common than DisplayPort 1.4
      • Annoying auto dimming behaviour, though this can be mostly mitigated with service menu settings, although doing so can void your warranty
      • Glossy glass finish, though this is down to personal preference, I quite like the effect it has on my AORUS FO48U

For those reasons, the ASUS PG42UQ is a better choice as a monitor, though it is far more than $1500.

      • Appreciate your feedback. The ASUS PG42UQ is super overpriced here in Australia but still a much better laternative.

I'm getting $20.95 for delivery to Melbourne.

    • Fair votes. It is however $20.95 delivery cost for the 65"

  • whats the differences between this one and the cs?????

    • Dont know about the new CS but in terms of LG C1 they have different processors, c1 has slightly near one but its already superseded. B1 has much better gradient handling, so there's less banding in HDR content. Everything else is pretty much the same with the C1

  • OLED prices are getting more and more equals to LCD prices, for the good LCD panels. I've been using my trusty Panasonic Plasma until now, is it still advisable to get an OLED to get equal or better color quality (non-withstanding the better resolution)?

  • +1

There was C1 then C2 then CS and G1 and G2 and B1. So confusing.

    • I guess my B8 must be better right because it's a higher number? Branding these days Sheesh…

      • -1

        Nah, it's just old.

    • +1

The numbers refer to the year they were released i.e. X=2020, 1=2021, 2=2022.

A, B, C, G refer to the model, where A is the entry level model and G is their premium model.

  • I’d be tempted if it was $1k…C1 was going for $1.6k earlier in the year.
