    Altstore.

  • How do these compare to adobe? Do they have a video editing product?

Edit: found this review which does a pretty good job explaining it. Might give it a go when I get back home

I would say that if you're a professional and you're used to working with Adobe, the workflow is quite a big adjustment.

Once you're used to the change in workflow, you get about 80% of the capability of the equivalent Adobe products here - but you get nearly 100% of the popular features, the things you miss out on are either very niche, or "cutting-edge" stuff Adobe is doing with AI.

Given the drastically lower price point, the Affinity suite is great value, but if you're doing commercial work with it, you may still find you're better off spending a lot more on Adobe if you need maximum efficiency.

      • 100% agree with this. I'm lightning quick with PS but with Affinity Designer I tear my hair out. It's great on performance and has some neat features but boy oh boy are some features unintuitive. It's like they've made them different just for the sake of it.

I can't speak to Photo, that might be simple enough to be worth it just for image manipulation but Designer is a mixed bag for me and it gives me conniptions every time I use it because I have to Google simple tasks every. damn. time.

      • Thanks looking to get into this space as an amateur so this is definitely helpful!

Overall, quite well. It's worth looking up the features you might need. I've only used V1 - the software is reliable, and the UI is intuitive (as in, it's almost the same as Adobe). There are some decent tutorials available online as well, but nothing like you'd get with Photoshop.

I don't do much editing anymore, but I was happy to get out of the Adobe subscription environment. I've chatted with people in the industry who have said their workflow is too tied to Adobe at this point that there's no point in them switching over unless a new product was vastly superior, which this isn't.

    • Publisher is so much snapper and painless compared to InDesign. Just have trouble moving around with the other affinity products compared to PS.

Was this the big announcement? Versions 2 of everything? ( was hoping they were bringing out a Video editor)

  • i wonder if these will release on the App Store or is it website purchase only

    • +1

I'd guess not since they lose 30% there already.

    • V2 does have an ipad app. But you pay at their site and once you login, it activates.

  • Is there a discount upgrade?…I did purchase photo when it first came out…Might upgrade if theres a discount.

    • I also have v1. They mentioned that due to most purchases being via app stores, they couldn’t do special discount for existing customers. However, this is why they made it a 40% off introductory price.

      • Thanks…I ended up grabbing publisher with discount.

  • This offer is still valid unit the end of Jan.
