    • It’s so strange how these companies doesn’t analyse the size of the promo beforehand and change their T&C later

Not so strange if folks abuse the promotion by just purchasing $100 gift cards.
It sucks that you have to go to the trouble of uploading receipts, rather than it being automated. This is the price we pay to weed out the Brodens.

Does really matter if items purchasesd now or gcs? Gcs just means you have paid upfront for items that may acquire at a later date.

        • You should share this amazing insight with the Bano Customer Service if they reject your cashback for GC purchase.

I made a $55.44 purchase at Bunnings yesterday and still no cashback. I've message customer service with no response as of this morning. Very unprofessional. If it was exactly $50 I kind of get the verification needed for the cashback, but not with an arbitrary number.

Went to Bunnings to buy a Montgomery shelf. No stock in store (showed in stock on the site) so they pointed me to the Broadmeadows store where there was 18 left. Drove 20 minutes there, asked 3 staffs but none could find where it was in store, each said a different location, 2 of them walked with me to find the shelf but still couldn’t. No cashback for me

Bought paint worth $200+ solely on my bano card and uploaded the receipt to customer service. Now they are questioning why the transaction shows being made at a different time on their system to my receipt. Not sure if they have accounted for the fact that we may be in different states hence the time difference. That isn't my problem at all. Seems they are trying to avoid giving cashback.

Got $10 instead of $20 for a >$100 spend. Customer service isn't very responsive.

    • I'm glad I'm not the only one. Still waiting to hear back from customer service, it's been a few hours so far for me.

      • +1

I eventually got it after pinging them again

        • Specifically what avenue did you ping them through?

      • More than two days for me and no response.

        • Got my $20 today and withdrew the whole balance right away via Revolut.

    • +1

Could that $10 be your referral bonus?

I also got the $10 instantly after a $100 purchase which I believe is the referral sign up bonus. Still waiting on the actual cashback…

      • Oh right, yeah that makes sense

  • So I went through the effort of applying for an account and then uploading further documents to verify my identity and have now been approved.

Now I've applied for and been approved for the virtual card, however I'm unable to add the card to my Google pay/wallet in order to be able to pay in-store.

Do I need to apply for the physical card in order to be able to pay in-store?

    • +2

If I remember correctly, I added the card details manually to Google Pay by copying the card number / cvv / expiry from the Bano app into Google Pay.

      • Yeah that's exactly what I did, it just throws back an error code. Google says to wait 48 hours and try again.

        Maybe I'll try Samsung pay

        • Samsung Pay only works with specific banks.

          Google's response was:

"This error usually occurs when Google doesn't recognize the card being added. Please do not worry we have a dedicated team who will help you with this. I will have to escalate the issue to our specialist team.

Please be informed, this might take 7 days to receive a response from the team."

      • Unlike Revolut, you can't even copy the card number into the clipboard on the iOS app. #UXFAIL

Bunnings increased their prices by 5% within 3 days.
So annual increase value is 38500%.
And our beloved government is telling us about 7% annual inflation rate ?
Are we gonna live in Germany 1920-s or Russia 1990-s ?

  • Has anyone successfully claimed cash back using Powerpass?

    • Yes. My card is just a cash account (not credit). Im starting to get the cashbacks now.

      • Ive had a purchase that was a split payment on monday that hasnt received cashback (which seems to be against t&cs but notbsure if the original t&cs had that condition) and another purchase on tuesday which abided by their T&cs and havent received cashback. Not gonna bother with Bano.

    • I have had 2 x $20 credited to my account whilst using Powerpass, both times I had to upload the receipt and they were processed with 24 hours.

      • +1

How did you upload the receipt? Go to support or add a note to the transaction?

        • I uploaded them through the customer service chat portal.

      • Do we have to upload the receipt

  • +2

has anyone waited more than a couple of days to get their cash back? I've been waiting 3 days and they don't seem to even respond on chat.

  • I waited a few days and nothing. Sent through my receipt. Received cashback of 1c. This was for a legit transaction for $114 with supplied proof. Sent through a complaint no response as of yet. Honestly wish I didn't sign up I'd feel better if I hadn't provided my personal details and didn't feel I had to go through this to get what was advertised.

    • +2

My suggestion would be for anyone that doesn’t get the cash back as advertised… so not those who purchased gift cards :)…. Should make a complaint to the ACCC or fair trading. It’s not about the few $$$ it’s about not letting companies make false claims.

      • On top of that would there be any benefit to refunding the items? (And in my case purchasing them again using the payment method I would have actually used).

    • +1

Yep I received a strange 1c cash back as well lol

  • It has been two days and customer service fails to even provide a response.

    • +1

I’ve noticed that my messages haven’t been ‘seen’ yet. It’s possible that that have created a rod for their own back but going through every receipt and now cannot handle the amount of cash backs to process

  • Seems like their trying to hold off any new applications until after this Bunnings promo, or they've just been swamped with the response to this deal. I submitted my application on the 13/11, still waiting. I've been messaging them daily and have only every received one response. Looks like I'll miss out on this deal and will need to go through the effort of deleting my account straight away to show my frustration. Pretty disappointed with Bano right now!

    • +1

You shouldn’t miss out on the cash back. You made your purchase and uploaded your receipt during the timeframe. They want you to forget and walk away. If they break the terms of agreement then raise it with ACCC.

However, they could just be swamped so it’s worth giving them sometime to sort it out.

      • If they break the terms of agreement then raise it with ACCC.

I don't think there is any agreement if they don't have a Bano account, and a virtual card that they can use to pay for the products at Bunnings.

        • I don’t understand what you are trying to say. I was saying is BANO break their agreement with the consumer… obviously if you aren’t using their service you aren’t going to bother complaining, trivial to say

  • +1

Apparently this is a Chinese company. It's a subsidiary of https://www.omipay.net Say goodbye to your personal data.

  • +2

Lol these clowns are issuing 1 cent Cashbacks anow…

    • That's the random cashbacks they give for any spend on the card.

      • Ah I see - I thought it was for the advertised cashback as I sent a message to customer service and then received 1c later on. Well I've made another purchase and nothing - no 1c or cashback (purchased on Saturday 19) and no response to any messages

  • So painful to redeem the $20 cashbacks. Manual receipt reviews and then waiting days for responses and then reconciling all the cashbacks.

    • It looks like there are two teams involved with their reviews, as the Customer Service team did bugger all other than collect the receipt.
Bano can literally go down the baño.

  • +2

Purchased on 14th and no cash back yet 😒

    • me too, no cashback yet and no response on the support chat

  • Bano is fruad, contacted them and now they tell me I had to the whole transaction using bano to be eligible. Closed my account not returning to them again

    • With all due respect, this is such an entitled way to respond to things..

As I quote their T&C’s ’The full receipt should also be paid using only the Bano card and not in conjuction with other cards’
I mean what are you blaming them for, you didn’t read their terms(which is okay) and retrospectively failed to get your expected cashback.
Also, it’s just like $10-$20 anyways which is not worth getting so overly emotive like that…

      • To be fair, that term was added in mid-promo on like on Tuesday or Wednesday. I saw the promo details on the Sat/Sun before the promotion started

  • +1

Received my $20 cashback today. Made the purchase on 20th and also had to uploaded the receipt. I spent the whole amount on Bano card as I luckily did notice the T&C where it was mentioned that the entire amount needs to be paid using Bano card. I also scanned my powerpass to get 5% discount which didn’t affect the $20 bano cashback. Hope this helps others getting their cashback sorted.

    • I also scanned my powerpass to get 5% discount

They would have no way of knowing, unless they have backdoor access to the Bunnings POS systems.

      • You’re right, however, when they ask you to upload the invoice for manual review they know for sure as it appears as “PowerPass Sale” in the invoice. Also mentions PowerPass savings. They must have honoured it as there was nothing mentioned in their T&Cs about PowerPass sale.

        • Good point.

I noticed they also added another condition about returning items, which wasn't there at the start of the promo.

  • I just contacted customer service again and they said I have to provide receipt to get the cashbck cause it's in the T&Cs which I don't recall seeing. Can anyome confirm?
