      • New user only mate

  • DDR5 ram and new AMD processor required? i wonder if bios is ok too? i remember last AMD some MB had to have the bios updated?

    • BIOS is ok. Designed for the current generation.

    • No DDR5 or new AMD Processor required. These are magic motherboards which work without CPU or RAM.

      • To be fair for the steep price they've been going for it's a reasonable question.

      • I mean. It has bios flashback so this is true (to a very small extent)

Watch out everyone we have a badass over here

  • is there any real point to upgrade B450M to B650M? What's the benefits?

    • B650M is AM5 socket (new AMD cpus are AM5)

    • Depends what you're doing, how much you value the increase in performance, and what workload you're running

      • Faster CPUs
      • DDR5
      • Support for newer generations of AM5 CPU
      • USB-C connectors, front panel connector

Right now 5700x cpu and RX 6800. Need the upgrade for future proofing? But by then this mobo will prob be much cheaper

        • I wouldn't be upgrading with that combo. It will probably get you through at least the next 2-3 years.

          I have a 3070 and am going to a 5800x3d from a 3600. Even that isn't necessary. I will likely skip AM5.

$302.45 inc $12.50 shipping for wifi version with the same discount code(prob for new users only?)

    • +1

OP's is non Wi-Fi variant, yours is Wi-Fi variant, so more expensive.

      $359.50 x 89% - $30 (SINGLE30) + 12.50 (shipping) = $302.45

  • Do you guys think we will be getting better deals during black friday or boxing day from previous experiences? (I am new to Australia) Thanks.

I have an issue. Bought a 7700x and 32gb DDR5 and now I need an itx board to suit. How can these things be so expensive? The mobo could be the dearest part of some people's builds! Never paid more than $350 for one before, I had no idea they were so poorly priced. Anyone know of any good options?

    • +2

There's currently no good ITX options. Buy this and a mATX case hahah

    • +2

MSI B650 ITX board for $399 expensive, but not too bad for ITX given most older AM4 boards are just as expensive these days anyway.

      • This looks like the best options unfortunately!

Wanted pcie 5.0 just because but this might be my only option. Thanks 🙂
