Hi Ozbaragainers,

We're in the middle of Hayfever season and stock is very low at the moment, but I've been scratching around for deals for the past couple of weeks and the only supplier that would come to the party for a bulk deal is Trust. I hit the rep hard and after a couple of weeks of back and forth was able to secure several hundred boxes of Trust Fexit 180mg (Fexofenadine Hydrochloride) at a very good price. Actually I think its an all time Ozbargain low and from my searching by far the cheapest in Oz.

  • What's the expiration on these?

      Ahh..sorry 01/24

  • Same price per tab as the Dr Reddy's 70pk :)

Good ol Dr Reddys is pretty much oos, only a few pre packed envelopes left but no supplier stock available ;-( - next batch just landed in Australia is pretty much pre committed so sadly I think we’re in for a Hayfexo drought.

      • That's unfortunate, but good to know. Glad I still have almost a full box :)

I’m ready for some new breakthrough in antihistamines. This year got me good.

    • +1

Allertine (generic name bilastine) was just released in Australia. It's the first new antihistamine to hit the Australian market in a long time. Not cheap though. If you want to try it, it's behind the counter so you have to ask at the dispensary.

hayfever is killing me this year

has to be the worst year so far

    • same, and almost nothing works.

      • There are a few GPs who do allergy immunotherapy. I used to suffer quite badly, but only taken telfast about 3 times this year so far! Im 8 months into treatment!

  • Loratadine already oos

    • +1

I’ve got a few at the pharmacy, I’ll add a few for you.

      • Purchased. Thank you

  • If any hayfever sufferers here struggle with itchy eyes, I've found that rubbing a couple of grains of chilli powder into your tear ducts instantly clears it up for at least a day or so.

Yes, it does hurt. And you'll want to be near a sink so you can wash it out after a minute, but I find this preferable to rubbing my eyes raw all day.

    Disclaimer, I'm not a doctor.

    • what about running noses + blocked noses? any tips?

      • The hayfever tablets usually work for me for those. Though I was chatting to an old bloke in the gym about this and he says his Thai wife makes really spicy meals, and even though he'll sweat and his nose will run while eating it (due to the spiciness), he reckons his allergies are clear afterwards.

There's definitely something to it. Not sure I'm brave enough to stick chilli powder up my nose though.

    • I've seen some weird and wacky home remedies before but that one has to be the most anti-intuitive I've ever heard. I'm not trying to debunk it, but I'm damn curious where you learnt that trick. When I do a quick web search about rubbing chilli in your eyes the only results I seem to get are how to get rid of it fast.

I had the worst itchy eyes one day and was cooking with chilli powder. Accidentally got it in my eyes and after washing it out, noticed that the itchiness was completely gone. Convinced a work colleague (who got hayfever worse than me) to do it, and he rubbed a cut chilli in his tear duct for a second. Said it hurts like a bitch, but worked for him too.

Most people I tell think I'm just trying to trick them, but it honestly works. My wife thinks I'm nuts.

        • HAHAHAHAHA!! I'll be honest, I'm inclined to agree with your wife…but it's true that many great discoveries were done quite by accident. I guess if it works for you and doesn't have lasting harmful effects then go for it. I imagine the capsaicin must have an anti-inflammatory effect of some sort, although that flies completely against what you'd expect to happen.

        • my eyes are really fkin itchy red most of the time, and it doesn't go away with all those eye drops even prescription one doesn't work. i am afraid, like something is wrong with my eyes and m gonna get blind.

          • @Harsh Deep: Yeah, I find nothing over the counter helps my itchy eyes. Considering how effective my other method is though, I wouldn't buy something unless it offered the same sort of relief I get from the chilli.

If you're that worried though, maybe speak to your GP. I know a couple of people who have gotten allergy shots and it seems to help them a lot.

      • Consider that inhaling eucalyptus oil opens up the airways by irritating then the chilli in eye makes a bit more sense.

    • +1

i ve been using the eye drop hay fever releaf as well, doesn't really work

      • +1

None of the hayfever meds work for my itchy eyes (they clear my sinuses up okay though).

If you're gonna try it, only use a couple of grains of powder the first time. Better to err on the side of caution with this one. But it sure is effective.

    • +1

Instructions unclear, chili seeds stuck behind my eyelids. Will try sleep it off

  • I am after Montelukast Sodium and Levocertizine Hydrochloride tablets. Tried looking for it everywhere but can't seem to find it. Do you stock something similar? I have been purchasing C-Zine but they seemed to have stopped working.

    • +1

Levocertizine worked no better or worse for me than Zyrtec. I think I ordered it online and it came from Korea. It's approved here but it is no longer supplied.

I know there are some promising test results, but given it's just the stereoisomer of cetirizine there is no surprise that it works the same.

  • Hayfever so bad this year nothing works. Even my kids have it for the first time ever. Tried all the tablets and sprays and nothing works. Many years ago in Canberra a doctor prescribed me ~$80ish Eye drops which fixed my hayfever immediately. I don’t know what they were called but making an appointment with the local gp this week to try and get it again

    • +1

      Patanol maybe?

      • Patanol is the only eye drops works for me. I have very bad hayfever allergy.

    • It's so bad this year I'm considering trying the Chili 'hack' above..

    • I commented above as well, I started allergy immunotherapy and been working a treat. A bit pricey but cheaper if you avoid a specialist and go to a GP who specialises in it.

  • The Loratadine goes so fast! 😭

  • Any generic ketotifen eye drop deals coming soon?

  • +1

can i request for Azep 20ml? thanks!

  • much better than my local that charged me $40 for 70 fexit… Didn't look at the price till I got home. I'm now going to a different pharmacy

  • Is hayfever an issue of Melbourne only? Or other cities also have the same issue?

    • +1

Adelaide - have been suffering for more than a week now.

    • I'm in the Swan Valley (North East Perth) and hayfever is kicking my arse this year!

  • +1

For anyone that gets hayfever and none of the OTC stuff work, try phenergen 10mg and if that doesn't work try 25mg. They are behind the counter.

Source, I've done a pharmacy assistance certificate and used to work in a pharmacy!

    • Good, but can make you drowsy.

  • Hi! Where are the Trust Fexit manufactured? Thanks!

  • dayum - I just received my delivery of 3 boxes of Fexo (Dr.Reddy's 180mg 70 tabs 11/24 expiry) where I paid $54 to Allied Pharmacy Group Craigmore - so 5397/210=25.7c each compared to the above deal of 19.7c each for 200.

I remember I got confused by two 'different' websites - one looked cheaper but added a shipping cost, the other was free shipping - but both ended up almost exactly the same price delivered

might even be the OP in this thread - https://pharmacysavings.com.au/products/70x-hayfexo-fexofena… ?

so I was wondering how many 'different' websites are actually the same umbrella company …

Dr.Reddy's appears to be made in Hyderabad, India - https://api.drreddys.com/product/fexofenadine-hydrochloride

I have read most tablets these days are made in either India or China - more likely India these days I'd guess.

Trust fexo - delicious ingredients here -
    'colloidal anhydrous silica
    croscarmellose sodium
    hypromellose
    iron oxide red
    iron oxide yellow
    macrogol 6000
    magnesium stearate
    mannitol
    microcrystalline cellulose
    purified talc
    titanium dioxide' - https://tinyurl.com/mw28pcsa

The Trust fexo TGA sponsor Pharmacor seems to be based in Laval, Quebec, Canada - https://rocketreach.co/pharmacor-pty-ltd-profile_b447bb6dfac…

interesting - TGA registration of their fexo 'canceled' in 2018 - https://www.tga.gov.au/resources/cancellations-by-sponsors/p… - I wonder what that's all about, and does it explain these discounts … ?

  • What's the best value oral antihistamine? My eyes have been so itchy. Nasonex + Visine allergy eye drops aren't cutting it.
