      Am I meant to have sympathy here? Dumb young family overspends without a care in the world.

      Gets upset when they have to pay for it…

      Solar doesn't do shit these days, unless you aren't home at night….. I get next to no benefit from my 5kw Solar in SA.

      Reading the article suggests the company did everything they should…

        Is it fair not to take meter reads for 9 months and all of a sudden they bombard with a huge bill. If I get an bill (just an estimate and not an actual bill) next time, I have a tendency to keep my usage at the same level by assuming everything is fine. Not paying for meter reads for 9 months and mislead the customer doesn't justify the huge bill. If the customer would've known about the high bill in the first month itself, they could've reduced their usage in the first month itself and could've avoided this.

          We got a headline reader…

          That's a bit harsh, accusing an ACA watcher of reading.

            @M00Cow: Lol fair

          • +1

            @M00Cow: Must admit I liked the part where they accused the call centre of being overseas, when it wasn't, wouldn't be like ACA to shoot their gob off without the full facts…. But obviously only Anglo Saxon White Aussies are allowed to work here according to this lovely couple.
