    wait until Black Friday?

    • I didn’t want to risk it - misses wanted to find a coffee machine for her dad. You could wait, unsure how low this could go.

Just buy it now since the delivery will be on December tp reserve your item. Then don't open it, wait for better deals on BF.

    • I would suggest to buy this from AU storefront they are technical and compact machines there is a chance you may need after sales services. Also grab an extended warranty if the price is right.

Note that this will most likely be UK plug.

  • This, a bambino plus or other for first coffee machine?

Wife just wants a half decent soy latte with minimal effort/training.

Bonus points if the machine doesn't take up too much bench space.

    • Stay away from fully automated machine, bambino 100%

    • TBH the Breville Barista Express Impress (BBEI) is likely the one that is easiest. The grinding and temping part is not that simple (not difficult either).

My concern of BBEI is the cleaning of the grinder. I currently use Bambino plus and Smart Grinder Pro. It is quite easy to just turn the grinder upside down and clean (which I think is necessary). Imagine you try to do that with BBEI….

For minimal fuss and bench space, these are the best. The semi automatic machines might be smaller but if you are purchasing a grinder as well, they will end up taking up more space.

Once you have settled on a grind and dose, these delonghis are consistent and easy. Cleaning and maintenance is easy. Mine has lasted for 5 years (it is a factory second) so far with no issues.

    • bambino plus for sure

If you want something drinkable and minimal effort i'd say get this. The Bambino will be a bit more work but can produce a better coffee. Having tried coffee from a Jura and Phillips and using a Lelit myself these types of machines aren't bad given how easy they are to use

I got this machine after wife refused to use or learn the manual machine I had for years

  • seems like a good priced machine, shame don't like the look.

  • Just saw the @ Amazon UK part….. Good luck with services🤔🤔

i had very limited experience full automatic except from a second hand Jura. My impression is they are so difficult to clean….

    • Same machine, different plug. Cut the UK plug and replace with an Aussie plug.

      • I was referring to RMA when it develop faults.

  • Had this model for about 5 years. Yes you can get better coffee out of a manual machine, but in a WFH situation drinking about 5 cups a day, the joy of just pressing the button to get a decent coffee is a worthwile compromise. Machine started to play up so I have now upgraded to the PrimaDonna to get flat whites with the button press.

    • Is there any difference in quality, or is it just simpler to get a latte?

I almost upgraded, but am happy with my machine, has made hundreds of coffees thus far.

    • I bought mine through WFH Covid times and loved it. Like you said just press the button and coffee comes out 2 minutes before meeting and bam expresso coffee is ready.

      • An express expresso

To me no difference at all. It's got wanky internet access, you can put in what beans you are using and it selects the best grind, Touch screen that you can scroll through to select drinks and you can set up profiles to remember your drink preferences etc. For me it's just basically wank, as I get a flat white or a long black and couldn't be stuffed changing the setting for the coffee beans I'm using.
Keep your existing machine if you drink black, I couldn't tell the difference. If you couldn't be stuffed manually doing your own milk, if you drink milk coffee, upgrade.
You can get better milk texture if you do it on a manual machine, but I just couldn't be stuffed with all the clean up etc. Press the button, coffee arrives, switch it to the clean function for the milk jug and see you in 90 minutes for the same again.

I would call this semi-automatic because milk is manually frothed

  • Whats the power plug on this?

  • Great coffee machine I’ve had mine for 1 year and love it.

    • Does the coffee come out hot? Was just reading the reviews on Amazon with some folks complaining it is lukewarm

      • Definitely comes out hot lol. The coffee doesn’t come out strong when you first buy it. There is two strength settings one dial in the bean tray that you can only adjust when the grinder is running and one on the front. I had to turn both dials pretty much all the way up to get the flavour and taste I wanted. Also the first coffee machine I returned as the steamer stopped working. I would highly suggest trying to barter your local appliance shop like the good guys and get it from a shop front and even get extra warranty if you wish. It could save you some headaches as these machines are very technical and compact. I paid $500 for mine at the good guys.

  • where does the sludge goes

    • The machine makes coffee pellets when operating and they fall into a bucket that you have to empty.

  • De'Longhi also has a xmas promotion on:
    https://christmas.delonghipromo.com.au/survey/Enter/DeLonghi…

Some free beans and a coffee bean holder or something

    • This model is never eligible

      • You don't try, you don't get.

        • I tried last time, almost same model number, didn't get

      • +1

It is, for the "cheapest" gift pack

  • How does this compare to the Philips lattego

  • To all the people undecided there is the Australian version also on promotion here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/740740

It’s 70 dollars more expensive, but comes with an AU plug and AU warranty so no headaches
