      I tried on both at JB and while they both felt comfortable, I went with the 45's as they have buttons instead of touch controls. I noticed even during my short time trying them on I accidentally used the touch controls at least once which I don't want to deal with.

      There are pros and cons for both. Plenty of reviews mention them. The biggest difference seems to be call quality while in a windy area, with the 700's being miles better. If that matters to you, maybe the 700's are better… but that's not why I bought them.

        My QC35ii are perfect for most situations - great noise-canceling - more comfortable for me than the SONY with shallow earcups which hurt/rubbing on my ears

        except wind noise - which seems to be amplified through the noise-canceling mikes or something - anyway in a strong breeze I had to turn sideways or something to try to reduce the loud rushing noise

        dunno if this is better on the 700s - the price is closer to a buy for me

        although - just checked full price $369 - have white not offered here - if I like white I'll hold off that decision until one of my QC35ii decide to die … I could be some time …

          Yeah honestly if the 700's had buttons instead of touch controls I would've got them instead. They're a better deal than the QC 45's at this price I think.

            @Jayblesz: I think for QC45 you can flip the headphone up for portability.
            Also for 700 the earpad spoil easily.

          You need to change the noise cancellation profile to 'low' in those situations.

          Changing to the 'low' setting will mostly eliminate the wind being picked up by the mics.

          How's the ANC? I have the sonys but unlike the previous models they don't allow you to set anc to full if you want (so certain things turn it to ambient, I think for safety). My main use is music and blocking loud neighbor's bass or workshop so I like to get opinions of owners.

    Pretty tempted to buy. Confused between the 700 and the XM5 (Which i think will be atleast 100$ more than the 700 even on BF)

      I'd highly recommend trying them both on if you are able to. Take some sanitiser and paper towel down to your local JB. That's what I did. Haha.

      I think the XM5's cup material is softer, as it was a bit more squashed from sitting on the display, but I found both of the Bose headphones were far more comfortable on my head (and I think I have kinda normal ears).

      One thing to note is XM5's (and XM4's for the matter) have the pause when taking off your ear feature, while I believe the 700's (nor the QC) do not.

      Also worth noting Sony's customer service and warranty policy can probably be described as garbage

        Sony's earpad depth is pretty shallow. I find Bose much better in that regard for comfort.

    For anyone interested, I just spoke to a sales rep on live chat and they confirmed the Bose SE are the same unit as the QC45's. Just a soft case instead of a hard case. Cheers.

    the 700 makes you look weird in front of camera because the head band extend so far out. 45 looks more sleek

    I'm not sure they ever fixed the multipoint on the NC700. Quite a bit of "stutter stutter brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr- Headset rebooting noise" happening.

    This is tempting.. or should I just grab Anker Soundcore Q30, Q35 and Q45 if i am just using wireless headphones at home for movies and listening to music?

    I prefer wireless earbuds while out/commuting to work.

    Should I still consider the Bose QC45 for exclusive use at home or anyone have any other recommendations?

      I bought them primarily for travel, utilising the good NC and quality/comfort, but plan on probably using them while studying or listening to music at home… I'm sure it's worth considering but it depends if it's worth spending ~$300 for something you might only use occasionally.

      Then again if they're as good as I'm hoping they are, you might find yourself using them more often.

    Does anyone use AirPods as well as another over/around ear NC Headphones? Purpose includes Zoom/Teams and phone/tab media consumption. I sold off my QC35s and really want 700s but cannot justify having both AirPods and Headphones as they might have similar use for me. Really want to though, ha.

    Thanks OP, excellent deal and great price. Picked up a pair, xmas pressie sorted! These are good head phones. Have an old qc 35 which has held up well apart from a disintegrated ear cup which I've replaced. Super comfy and good sound.

    Ordered the 45s. I had to place the order first at $319 and ask chat to minus the difference of the previous price. In the end, I still got them for $289.

        I just asked if they could match the price that was listed on the site earlier which was $339, then applied student bean which brought it down to $289. Alternatively, you could ask them to price match JB HiFi at $339 and apply student beans.

    Still a good price if you have a StudentBeans code, otherwise you're better off getting for $339 from JB HI-FI (link is also in deal post)

      My order placed on Sunday (before this deal) was only shipped this afternoon. Given the volume they moved with this deal and the price match I'd be lenient with their 1-2* day policy… But I'd hope people who ordered yesterday or today will have their order despatched before Friday.

      They ship via Startrack so it should be fast once it's despatched, but mine took 2 business days to despatch.
