      • You are absolutely right about Officeworks staff might or might not let you do split payments. I tried first time works flawlessly to buy laptop with 11 gift cards, then second time the next day I got refused by them(staff + manager) said they can't do split payments.

However, I guess you can get around by buying their Officeworks gift cards first? I didn't try it yet because I don't want to make a scene with their staff members there.

        • However, I guess you can get around by buying their Officeworks gift cards first?

Yeah, I guess you could, except what is stopping them from saying “no split payments” if you have a pile of Coles Group & Myer or Officeworks gift cards instead?

You could come back later or try another store (if that is an option).

  • Tried to purchase 500 X 4 variable gift cards from Woolies, but the discount didn't show up. Is it working for anyone else?

    • +1

Did you scan an Everyday Rewards card during the transaction?

      • +1

Thanks, I went again, and it worked this time. The discount comes up when you scan Everyday Rewards.

  • +2

A couple of tips for people looking for the variable load Ultimate Everyone gift cards:

    • You cannot purchase variable load Ultimate Everyone gift cards at Woolworths Metro locations. You will run into the $0.01 load bug.

    • You must scan an Everyday Rewards card for the 10% discount to appear at the checkout.

    • You can use Activ Visa and Perfect EFTPOS gift cards to pay for Ultimate gift cards at Woolworths.

    • Damn was gonna go to the local Woolies Metro and get a $500 card :(

      • +1

Maybe you’ll have more luck than me, but my experience indicates you’ll run into the bug as well, as it appears across multiple Woolworths Metro locations.

        There’s no harm in trying…

        • Is it specific to ultimate cards?

Cos I definitely got $500 Apple Card’s from a Woolies metro last year.

          • +1

@zzzman: Only some variable load gift cards are affected by this bug at Woolworths Metro.

I know that the Activ Visa Pets & Vets and Activ Visa Travel gift cards are also affected, but the Activ Visa Online Shopping is not affected.

            • +1

@WookieMonster: You’re right mate. My local metro scanned the variable card and it comes up as $0.01 and there’s nothing they can do about it.

              Woolies need to fix this!

              • +1

@zzzman: Pay cash and that rounds down to 100% off. You'd need 10 thousand of them to get $100. I'd post it as a deal if it weren't for insufficient stock.

    • What about splitting the payment into $99 or below when paying by your debit card? Will this work at any checkout terminals?

  • My experience this morning at my local WW (non-metro) retail outlets confirm that the Everyday Extras 10% hack no longer works on GCs. Total amount after discount = $457.8. Should have been close to $413.

    • yesterday evening I went to BIGW and I saw terminal were updating and installing new software.

    • +1

Did it ever work @ WOW? Only Big W was mentioned.

      • I don't recall which thread, but someone mentioned it was worthwhile trying.

        • I just tried at BigW, hack not working.

          • @SJ50: Well dam, i only did it 2 days ago at BigW and it worked fine.

            • @Kirbieb: 2 days is really long time.

  • Ultimate everyone cards all gone at Town Hall

  • My experience at a normal woolworths was the discount didn’t apply at self checkout even after scanning my rewards card (not it’s supposed to be a requirement of the offer).

They were about to apply a manual discount at a normal register when scanning my rewards triggered it.

    • So, the Everyday Extras hack worked for you at the manned checkout?

      • +1

Nothing to do with Everyday Extras, just the 10% offer as advertised in the catalogue.

Thanks OP.. Visited Woolies at 7 am today, grabbed 1700 worth of card (3x 500 and 2x100), paid 1530.
Went to JB hifi at 8am, got a Macbook. Will claim another 10% gst (155$) at TRS counter at the airport.

    Macbook air m2 after discounts = $1384… Winning 😁

Macbook is a gift to someone overseas, it wont be coming back with me ✌️✌️

  • +1

Just got 4 of the variable load cards at Crows Nest - there are none on the shelves but if you ask at the service counter they have some there

There were no ultimate cards at all in Lane Cove

  • I'm old fashioned. Because this is in effect a payment method, you can in fact buy gift cards with a gift card? Times have changed, the opportunities endless!

  • How do you use this card to pay at Officeworks online?

  • Has anyone had success in buying Apple Gift Cards using JB Gift Cards?

JB's terms and conditions says "A Gift Card cannot be used to purchase another Gift Card (i.e. JB Hi-Fi branded gift card)."

"Gift Card" is defined in their terms as "JB Hi-Fi branded gift cards" - So this clause seems to suggest you can't use JB GCs on another JB GC?

  • Can anyone confirm that the 10% everyday rewards extra no longer stacks for giftcards?

    • I tried this morning, it does not stack.

      • that's a shame, thanks

  • So I know you can't buy the Ultimate gift cards from Woolies with a gift card, BUT can I use the Ultimate Gift Card to buy Google Play gift cards at Officeworks?
I need a few Google play to top up my balance but haven't seen a 10% for awhile ?

  • @WookieMonster is there a swap facility for Ultimate cards like there is for TCN

    • +1
      • Is JB Hi-Fi available?

        • +1

No, it has not been available on that exchange facility for about a year.

          • @WookieMonster: I guess its the same for Officeworks and TGG

            • @HairyChickens: I don’t remember whether TGG was ever on the exchange facility. It could have been, but it is definitely not on there now.

Officeworks has never been on the exchange facility, and they only joined the Ultimate gift card scheme at the start of last month. Having Officeworks on the exchange facility would be somewhat pointless, as you cannot redeem Officeworks gift cards (or Coles Group & Myer gift cards) on the Officeworks website. Yes, you can still use Officeworks gift cards instore, but I see the exchange facility as primarily getting you around the 1x Ultimate gift card per transaction limitation for online stores.

  • Went to local WW Metro they said 5 card limit then said 10% off was only in certain stores and theirs was excluded. Called BS showed them their own catalogue. Went to a large WW they said they had pulled all Ultimate Everyone cards as they were not scanning with discount at checkout. All other cards were fine. Seems like there is a bug in some stores.

    • Not sure what I am saying is relevant to the issue you mentioned..

Yday I picked up 3 variable cards and 2x 100 cards.. At the self serve check out, 100$ cards showed the discount right away on the screen after scanning. However, variable cards didn't. I called for assistance, she asked me to scan Woolies card and voila.. Total amount ( not individual cards) came up was discounted price.

  • Anyone found any stores in Adelaide that have these in stock?

  • No stock of Ultimate Everyone as of lunchtime 24/11 (shelf or service desk) in Melbourne @
    1- Woolworths QV
    2 - Woolworths Metro, 60 Elizabeth Street

  • I haven't made use of gift card deals before, say e.g. you want to buy a $1k laptop from JB, would you buy two $500 gift cards and they will let you use the two gift cards for the one transaction?

Does that work with all major retailers, using multiple gift cards for one transaction, even online?

    • I used 34 giftcard at JB-HiFi, no issue.
I was prepared with all giftcard scratched and sorted by its value.

There was a report that OfficeWorks does not allow split payment, because employee does not want to deal with it.

      • Oh awesome, so 34 giftcards for one transaction. That is a lot of giftcards, haha.

        • yes, 1 transaction.
I read somewhere here that people had success with 40+ giftcard at JB-HIFI.

  • There were a lot of cards available around 3.30 pm at Quakers Court, Falmouth Rd.

  • Just bought 5x$100 everyone, went to cashier check-out she scanned all 5 cards and discount each card and total $450, no need to scan every day rewards card.

  • In theory, could I go buy 60 x $100 gift cards for $5400 and then buy a tv with them or is there a limit of how many can be used in one transaction at JB or TGG?

Or is there a limit on how many gift cards can be bought in one transaction?

    Thx

    • Unless I'm mistaken, you can buy cards up at the $500 range? I got one for $500, 10% off.

  • Anyone tried to buy them using Vanilla visa from Coles?

Had over card limit error just now.

  • JB Hi-Fi Chadstone Home Superstore refused to sell me apple gift card to me when they saw me taking out the $500 ultimate gift cards. I went in at night when there wasn't many people in the store nor at the check out. And I was told NO, you can buy maximum 1 apple gift card.

  • +1

Bought $2800 costing $2520 from Woolworths today and picked up a Mac Studio from JB on their 10% off sale. A Mac Studio for just under $2500 is a great deal.

  • +2

After doing a tour of Canberra and finding none at Tuggers, Woden and Belco, my final stop for the day was Mawson and hit the jackpot. Dozens upon dozens of multi-load ones available.

  • Does the card have to list the store you want to use it at? Mine doesn't list Zone Bowling even though it is listed on the giftcard website….assumed it's because there's not enough space?

  • I've got 2 x $500 Ultimate cards that I bought today with the intent to use on the Weber online store. Card are not being recognised :(
    What am I doing wrong?

    • Do your cards have an EFTPOS logo on the back? From the Ultimate website:

Ultimate gift cards can now be used online (please note, the older Ultimate gift cards that have an eftpos logo on the back cannot be used online).

      • No they don't. Card #, PCN, CVV2 and PIN. So they should work like a normal credit card. I suspect that maybe because I'm trying to buy an expensive item, their website won't allow me to use multiple smaller-value cards to cover the larger total cost.

    • What is the total amount you are trying to spend on the Weber website?

      • +1

$1099. All sorted now. Ended up doing a 1.5hr trip to my nearest Weber Store and buying in person. No dramas using the cards.

  • Are there any stores in Sydney that still stock these cards?

  • Does this end midnight (29'th) or end of, 29'th?

    • It will end when store closes on Tuesday.

      • Hmmmm should I get more….

        • Question should be: is there anymore left?
